Noble claims it was a try

Post by DaveO »

From the Sporting Life

"For me it was a try and I'd like to hear an explanation of why it wasn't given," said Noble.

"If somebody pulls the ball out and somebody grounds it, it's a try, isn't it?."

Hopefully the RFL will have to react even if only by fining Noble for bringing the game into disripute!

Russell Smith was demoted in Australialast week after a supposedly poor performance where one of the coahches actually questioned if he knew the rules.

A mistake like the one tonight in a crucial game like this isn't good enough.

Daylight Robbery. I don't think I've ever been as angry after a match, to make up for it, I expect to see all Saints' tries disallowed until we score in our next league match

The ball was knocked out, intentional or not, it was play on.
If that had happened on the half way line it would have been a scrum to us. Fact is, Presley bottled it.

Former referees, generally those that reffed at the top grade but are no fit enough for SL.

The decisions dont even out. It can be clearly seen that certain teams always get the rub of the green.Everyone in the world of rugby knows that that was a legit try last night. (exept cullen and Clarky ofcourse who seems to think that was the time to start rewarding defenders, I thought the instruction was to come down on the side of the attacking player, benefit of the doubt and all that). If you look back at the catalan game it was obvious which way the season was going to go. But like you I am sick of having to put up with this incompetence every week. HOW MUST THE PLAYERS FEEL?
Incidentally I think the defence should be applauded for their efforts last night, to concede only 2 tries when you have played about 70 mins in your own half is pretty remarkable. As for the attack????? what attack???? KIcking game??????????????????????? EDIT thats "Kicking game" or maybe not!
Most famous team in the world playing the greatest game in the universe!

Anybody notice how Cummings has issues a high shot edict but seemingly told nobody but the referees. Both SKY matches saw the referees go crazy for high tackle penalties.

I don't think the reffing in general has been good enough this season. You just have to look at Ashley Clown's performance at the Catalan game. I know we can't blame the position we find ourselves in, just on bad reffing, but last night was disgraceful. How they gave that as a knock on I'm bemused.

...but is it a case of whether there was intent to remove the ball? If it was intentionally stolen by Halpenny then it's not Richards fault, this is we all know.

However, judging from Halpenny's positioning (coming from behind Richards) I don't think it was intentional, therefore, is the onus not on Richard to maintain control of the ball? The video referee is not stupid, he can see what has happened in the video as plainly as the rest of us, maybe it's us that's uncertain about the rules?
