Getting Better
Getting Better
Well saying they wwere the top of the league, best team etc I felt we did well. They created little and much of what they got were gifts on our part. Dobson is clearly an improvement upon Moran and Hock is only going to get better as his fitness improves.
Re: Getting Better
hock was good tonight. hard to believe he's been out for so long
Re: Getting Better
Our Best performance for some time, the atmosphere tonight was fantastic, come on lads, we can stay up
Re: Getting Better
i get the impression that after tonghts game, people seem to have a little more faith!!
"Winning isn't everything...but wanting to win is"
"The way a man wins, shows much of his character, the way he loses, shows all of it"
"The spirit, the will to win and the will to excel are the things that endure. These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur"

Re: Getting Better
Well the defence bar the odd bit of poor numbering up is not bad, the effort is there for all to see and that attack needs to get better but it should with Dobson and Hock etc.
Re: Getting Better
similar perfomance aginst Leeds, and then bring on the rest!!!

Re: Getting Better
That's about right. Wouldn't think we've improved enough to beat Leeds at Headingley, especially after the way they stuffed the Bulls (sorry, Boovey!), but the next seven, even Wire, I can see us winning if we play like we did tonight.chester posted:

Re: Getting Better
After Leeds we have a run of games where we will make ground up.
We can win 7 out of the next 10. Wolves only real tough side if we play well.
Bit more confidence and then anything is possible.

Re: Getting Better
Your performance was little more than spirited but overall, a scrambled.
Your defence ran like flies to holt another below par performance from Saints that bombed many scoring chances.
Take heart but don't get jaded in effort.
You were at home, still they doubled, yet should have trebled, your score.
Drawing a line through that result, I still cannot see where your next win will come from, possibly you might get a result against Salford who are on a slide.
I don't want to spoil your heightened expectations, but take off your cherry coloured specs and take in a reality check...It still ain't nowhere near good enough.

Re: Getting Better
Infinitely better.
However, we've played like trojans against decent teams then gone backwards against lesser ones the week after.
Defence looking far more sound ( but still the occasional lapse ) even if our tackling these days consists mainly of grabbing from the waist up & trying to dislodge the ball. O'loughlin is a red card waiting to happen & I'm convinced a player with more of a "reputation" would have spent half the season on the sidelines if he copied O'loughlin's tackling style.
Dobson a lot better than Moran & looked busy with good kicking game. However, we still look a little short of ideas coming forward.....
