South Stand support
Re: South Stand support
i do know people who like to leave early if the scoreline is bad, some of them are my friends, and however selfish this my sound I alsways make them wait for me as I like to cheer my team off the field no matter how they have played. And regarding Saturdays game, I sit at the top of the South Stand and I did see some people leaving early but the majority of people I saw were leaving the East Stand. And that is no insult to people who sit in the East, that is just what I saw and the South Stand did empty pretty quickly too. Don't know about the West as I wan't looking that way.

I agree mate, I always stay til the end. The problem is they seem to think we all do it, some have short memories! A crowd of 18,000 shows we have the best following in rugby league.
Re: South Stand support
Me and my family are all loyal supporters and we sit in the South Stand and not just because it's the cheapest place to sit but because it's also got the best atmosphere. It makes me mad that just because we sit in the South we get tarred with a very bad brush. We even sit and take the stick thrown at Scousers with good humour (being scousers ourselves) not that Saints are. Last year even though we were playing badly we only missed two games all season and OK we haven't been to all away games this year but we've been to a few and all home games. So in future please don't slag off all the South Stand because most of us are decent ancient loyal supportes who will be there fighting with every last breathe in us to keep this club up.ancientnloyal posted:
most south standers aint loyal, they go because its the cheapest seat in the house. I have only sat there once, ever. that was because i had pennies left so I had no other reasonable choice.
Especially an entertaining match, 15 or so minutes to go... wigan were still in the game! it only takes a second to score a try.
Saints fans were fantastic, nice to see the north stand full (ish).

Reading various responses, it's the usual everyone being tarred with the same brush.
Just because they are Saints Fans, it doesn't mean they all nick hub caps.
South Stand has it's reputation for Chav culture, as does the Leeds south stand, or the old Threpenny stand at Hulls old ground. Usual case of minority spoiling it for the majority.
West stand will be known as Prawn cocktail eaters, but I'm sure there are people over there that shout now and again.
East Stand, full of good looking blokes and babes!
north stand, full (unless Giants, Salford, London, Wakey) of people that talk funny and having their brief moment of glory.
Going back to the "Wigan Walk", I have a couple of observations.
1. How many missed that classic last second try when Renouf fed the ball to Rads and then Faz converted to beat the Bulls?
2. Who remembers 65 - 12 being televised and the torrent of Stains fans leaving at half time (along with chants of "what the **** is going on) with the camera panning back to show them pouring onto the streets (with or without hub caps).

If you're talking about the KR game I keep reminding them of this day, but strangely enough their memories have been erased. Funny that..FROM A TO B posted:

65 - 12 when Jason robinson scored after about 35 seconds.
Think it was on BBC or when Sky had the camera on a crane.
Great shot at half time of the ground emptying!
