Rule changes

Post by DaveO »

Henry Paul is playing for Quins in the cup at the weekend because the RFL have, at the last minute, moved the cup signing deadline so he is eligable.

It affects a few other players at other clubs as well.

Now I am pretty sure we could not play certain players we signed v Salford not because they were cup tied in the traditionals sense of them already have played for another team in the competition but just because they missed the signing deadline for the cup.

So here we have a fine example of the RFL changing the rules mid-way through the compitition.

It cerainly benefits Quins and was to our disadvantage.

OK you might argue we are better off out of the cup but that isn't the point. The point is the RFL have changed the rules well into the competition and while this rule change is not something huge like a rule change that would prevent us from going down, it is a rule change that could effect the outcome if the games.

So much for playing to rules agreed at the start of the competition!

Seems Quins have had all rules changed to suite them.

No of foreign players
Bankruptcy

They should not be in SL yet if we survive due to a change in the rules there fans will be up in arms.

However, will you be complaining if we finish bottom and the RFL change the rules around relegation?

Nope but many will. Still as Ian Wright said when Gerrard dived last night.

They all are doing it so why dont we.

I think it's time for a vote on this question, just for fun...

If you were to be aloud to stay up even if you finnished bottom (wich could easily happen as Rugby league is now so bent) it would be an absoloute disgrace, you would be hated throughout the Thugby world.
Huddersfield were allowed to stay in the Super League twice when they finished bottom and only a few people hate them.
