Henry Paul is playing for Quins in the cup at the weekend because the RFL have, at the last minute, moved the cup signing deadline so he is eligable.

It affects a few other players at other clubs as well.

Now I am pretty sure we could not play certain players we signed v Salford not because they were cup tied in the traditionals sense of them already have played for another team in the competition but just because they missed the signing deadline for the cup.

So here we have a fine example of the RFL changing the rules mid-way through the compitition.

It cerainly benefits Quins and was to our disadvantage.

OK you might argue we are better off out of the cup but that isn't the point. The point is the RFL have changed the rules well into the competition and while this rule change is not something huge like a rule change that would prevent us from going down, it is a rule change that could effect the outcome if the games.

So much for playing to rules agreed at the start of the competition!

Dave
Have they issued why they have changed the ruling? Are there different deadlines for different stages of the competition?

No. It would appear that there are different deadline for different clubs!!

However, this suits me fine. They have set the precedent this season for changing the rules as they go along.

I think it is a disgrace for Wiganers to have a pop at each others educational standards. We are all from the same gene pool - HAVING SAID THAT LATICS FANS ONLY WENT IN UP TO THEIR ANKLES!

Seems Quins have had all rules changed to suite them.

No of foreign players
Bankruptcy

They should not be in SL yet if we survive due to a change in the rules there fans will be up in arms.

Would be interesting to see if Quins was the bottom club of the League??????/
