Ticket allocation

Post by Warriors_ace_17 »

Taken from cherryandwhite.co.uk

The capacity of the game will be 11,950, this is reduced by around 500 due to the big screen.

Wigans initial allocation of tickets will be 3500, increasing to 5500 if required, the initial allocation of 3500 is low because of only 2600 tickets being bought from the JJB stadium prior to last years semi final against the Bradford Bulls.

Tickets will go on sale to season ticket holders at the JJB Stadium on Monday 5 April.

The RFL will be holding around 1000 tickets , which non-season ticket holders can purchase.

So it seems that ONLY season ticket holders will be buying from the JJB. Wigan expect to sell there initial 3500 tickets on the first day.

Ticket Prices are as follows:

Main Stand: Adult £18.00 Concession £13.00

Seating Behind Posts: Adult £15.00 Concession £8.00

Terracing Behind Posts: Adult £13.00 Concession £7.00

Wigan will have the FULL south stand and half of the West stand, the west is the usual AWAY stand.

wigan have more than six thousand season ticket holders and we are only being allocated five thousand tickets. there will be a riot! if even you have paid for a season ticket you still can't watch the game.and all the other fans have little or no chance of getting a ticket.i know the reason behind this decision to play at a small ground because its on tele they want the ground full to the brim to show how well the game is doing.if they rent the rebock and it only gets half full it will be embasising for a game this important. its bloody stupid thats what it is and decent ordinary fans are being messed about again.(the grinch is upset) and he has a season ticket!

I think you're getting confused, the season ticket only applies for league matches at home (although it may also applies for kids at away games? It's been a while since I was under 16 so don't know for sure). But anyway, cup games and play-offs are not covered by the season ticket, but season ticket holders are given preferential treatment in terms of getting tickets before non-season-ticket holders.

The reason for making games all-ticket is for safety reasons: if you went to a game and found it had sold out you probably wouldn't be happy and might do something you shouldn't do, such as attack the ticket office staff or set fire to the stadium or something. An all-ticket game stops that as you probably won't go if you have no ticket.

They having a laugh, aren't they? There's a big hole at one side of the Chemical Stadium where you'd expect a stand to be, why not put the screen there?! Why do they have to take out 500 seats for that?

Most of us paid on the day, knowing it wasn't going to be all-ticket. IIRC the attendance that day was pretty good... 15359 it says on Bilko's excellent site. Maybe not as high as I'd remembered but then we all thought we were going to get hammered that day and many Wigan fans stayed away. No-one can say that this time, we've no idea what our team's likely to be to know what kind of performance to expect.

... but really for corporate flunkies and other assorted hangers-on.

£18???!!! It's not even good value for money, but then again they're charging £16.50 to get into the MacAlpine next Sunday, which is also a rip-off. I know there are cheaper tickets but I presume "terracing behind posts" is the missing-stand part of the stadium, whilst we've only got half of the "seating behind posts" end so probably most people will end up in the £18 section.

I can feel an angry letter to the RFL coming on. Mr Lewis is likely to find that RL crowds aren't quite like Wimbledon crowds, we won't be placated by listening to Cliff Richard singing!

We got our tickets over a week ago. Have got tickets in advance for the last 4 or 5 games away at saints, it's a nightmare otherwise.

I think there are some crossed wires, the thread was initially about the cup match. Think you mean the Saints match which has been made all ticket now :)
