Noble wants expansion
Noble wants expansion
Brian Noble has said on teletext that he wants the league to expand to 13 teams to save us from relegation, Does this mean he has resigned himself to the fact that we are going down?, The Stains fans will have a field day with this. RLfans will be buzzing with this.
Re: Noble wants expansion
And they can stay on RLFans as far as I'm concerned. I'm really not concerned with what they've got to say about us, and perhaps they should note that if the league were to change any rules, then their own management would have had to agree to that as all the clubs are represented on the board of SLE.Dawber posted:

Re: Noble wants expansion
Interesting how Mr Whelan added the little caveat re "introducing another team but nothing to do with Wigan" in his half time talk on Sunday........
Ps - was it just me or did he sound like he'd had a few
Mind you, I was told he'd had elocution lessons & that'd definitely explain that strange posh Wigan hybrid that was coming out - like a posh telephone voice that your Dad does but never quite manages to pull off

Seems its on the cards.
Quins owes one for keeping them alive last season. 3-4 teams will not want to be in a relegation fight so it looks like 1 or 2 more to agree then SL goes to 14.
About time. Stop the nonsense of playing sides 3 times.
Re: Noble wants expansion
I don't think Quins owe us anything because I am prety sure Mo was opposed to them being saved. Either that or he wanted them to have points deducted which may have seen them relegated.
And I don't think Saints would vote for an expansion to save Wigan as McManus and Co do seem to have a problem with dealing with Wigan as shown by the Newton/Higham saga.
That said it is a majority decision of the SL chairmen that would see the rules changed. Not sure how big a majority is required (e.g. 2/3 or something more than just one over 1/2) but even with a simple majority I just can't see enough if any SL chairmen voting for this.
The simple reaosn is that they would loose money with a 13 team league.

Vote to keep Broncos was 6-5

And which side of the fence did Wigan end up on? The 6 or the 5?thegimble posted:

I thought Mo voted against because there was no points deduction.

Re: Noble wants expansion
Thought he voted for when he knew he was not getting the point reduction.
Re: Noble wants expansion
My recollection is he voted against because he didn't get the points reduction, hence my thought that Quins owe us nothing.thegimble posted:
