I think I'm the only Wigan fan that agrees with you on this Gary. I think Cullen is more often than not very honest, he criticised his players in interviews saying they didn't play well enough and he's congratulated the opposition team.
At the beginning of the season Ian Millward brought up our injury status several times in interviews.
That wasnt an excuse, the (water carrier) incedent cost warrington a try and they got beat 26-20 so obviously you can see why he was annoyed at that. Anyone would be, espescially Noble!
I can see why Cullen was angry here but I don't think it lead to the try. There were another couple of play-the-balls between Fa-afili colliding with the water carrier and the try being scored. However, I suppose you conceded field position which is not disimilar to conceding a penalty.
I actually think that everyone's being harsh on Cullen for those comments about Wigan's money being on the pitch.
The way I took it was that some of the money Warrington had spent was injured and couldn't get on the pitch - rather than saying we are spending ridiculous amounts of money and it's giving us an unfair advantage.
I don't mind Cullen's whingeing, it's his attempts to sound articulate by peppering his speech with David Brent style management jargon I can't stand i.e. on Friday: "Wigan manufactured a lot of energy into this game.." What?
The sooner his frantic style of Warrington accented gobbledegook is put to use in a paper factory on an industrial estate where it belongs the better for all of us

When he said Wigans money was on the pitch did he also include the dropped Pat Richards the only 95% fit Calderwood and wait for it the man whose name I can't spell Vialeki (I can't run fast but I can run sideways}.
Well boo hoo to the rest of you. I like Paul Cullen. He has a visceral hatred of Rugby Union.

Il n'y a rien de mal a ça mais il est difficile de penser à autre chose.
Yeah looking now at the games left and wigans form i think wigan will (and indeed should) survive. Like i said in the other post i really hope they do stay up, the fans deserve it and the team do the way their playing.
I think you will batter harlequins and if wire beat caz and saints beat wakefield then your back in the fight and possibly a top six spot if you keep winning.

Actually Rob I think you'll find that I was the first to commend Paul for his post match comments after the Hull KR game. However I think the particular comments we are discussing here are a different matter. For a man who, let's say, chooses his words carefully do you not think he made sure he phrased it the way he did in light of all the allegations surrounding Wigan? Do you think he would have used the same terminology had this game taken place a week earlier?
Apologies, Flash, I should have said 'one of the only Wigan fans.'
I don't think he would have used the wording he used had it been a week earlier and there hadn't been all this talk in the press. However, I just think that is one of his David Brentisms, as DaiJones superbly put it

But the point he was making isn't a valid one: Warrington's injuries haven't been any worse than any other club's...and nowhere near as bad as ours.
Wire have only used 26 players so far this season; we've needed to use 37.

Rob and Flash, I'm another Wigan fan who thinks Cullen was gracious in defeat against Hull KR but i honestly think he was having a good old moan in saying what he said and yeah he talks out his a**e. But lets not worry about Paul Cullen and focus on the positives for Wigan and there was many on Friday!
cullen had no option but be gracious after the hull kr defeat the way kr came back twice from being 10 points behind tells me wire didnt deserve to win that game the same way wigan threw it away against leeds on the first home game this season
here mate is that tackle seven your jokeing my head marra
Yeah no doubt about that Hull K R outplyed Warrington all over the field. The problem was the players thought it would be too easy, or easier than they predicted anyway. Thats why Cullen was furious with his players and rightly so. Since then though they've played super league opposition so theres no excuses Paul, get your players motivated.
