KB to Huddersfield

Post by GeoffN »

Centre Kevin Brown is set to team up with former Wigan team-mates Martin Aspinwall and Stephen Wild at Hudders-field for the rest of the season, while prop Paul Prescott is poised to join pal Bryn Hargreaves on loan at Leigh.

Looks like just a loan, though, from the way it's worded.

We didn't send Kevin Brown out on loan, Noble did. That should tell you something about how highly Noble rates him compared to the other 30 odd players in the squad - not very highly!

Face it, Kevin Brown has had somethihng lie 72 games of SL to prove himslelf and all has succeeded in doing is getting himself loaned out.

There comes a time when you have to decide a player has been given enough chances to prove themselves and 72 SL games is more than enough. Brown has failed to secure a place in the team because he is the waste of space. Simple as that. I just hope he doesn't come back!

I'm kind of in-between on KB...I certainly don't rate him as highly as Millward appeared to, but neither do I think he's as bad as DaveO makes out.
I got the impression that all the "rave reviews" he was getting from people like Stevo & Millward (and even Noble, who had him in the GB squad at one point) went to his head - he did have massive potential a year or so ago, but never fulfilled it.
Maybe a spell with another team will be the kick he needs. I'd love the KB from early last year to come back for us...but not the KB we've seen recently.

True and one time he did play stand off for us was in an injury crisis on debut against Stains and scored with a good attacking running line when he went straight through the saints defense. More than Orr has shown attacking wise although not as good in defense as Orr, he has shown at least some attacking potential.

He was always played out of position especially in the centre, which is not his position. But with Barrett over next year we wont need Brown and hopefully we will replace Orr too.
