International Fraggle, Not once last night did i hear "If you all hate St Helens clap your hands", I watched the game with my 13 year old son and regardless of who the player played for we both applauded when someone in the red, white and blue scored, put out a good pass or did a bone crunching tackle, As i said it was an international, But hey maybe thats just me, I'll just say that the Stains lot that stood near me last night did there club proud, NOT!

Well, I've got to say that I wouldn't boo anyone during an international, but I wouldn't be too quick to cheer players either that I don't like. Under no circumstances, even if he played at Wigan, would I ever cheer or say anything positive about Iestyn Harris, for example. But I understand your point, and perhaps the Saints fans should have put things into perspective. You don't have to look a player, but there's no reason to hurl abuse at them because there are always opposition fans ready to do that!

Long has received abuse in local derbies for obvious reasons at the JJB, but never once did he get the same sledging that Newton got last night, when we have had internationals at the JJB.

Correct, I found it really strange last night when Newton set up a try for long, All the Stains fans screaming like crazy when Long crossed the white wash, Just second after they all started booing when Newton appeared on the big screen, It's almost as sad as the Judas chants that Connelly still has to put up with, I think it's about time some people grew up a little, For gods sake some of the people hurling abuse where probably not even born when Connelly signed for Wigan.

Was all in good humour I thought, Saints fan were booing Wigan players, some Wigan fans started to jokingly boo the Saints players when they got the ball. There didn't seem to be any abusive language around where I was stood in the main stand.
Rubbish, I was on my way to the ground last night with my 13 year old son, We where meeting my mate at the ground so i also had his daughter with me, A car drove past with a group of Stains fans in it, One of them very nicely shouted out of the window "You ------- fat c (i don't think it will be to hard to work out what they said)", Okay granted i may be a little overweight but do i deserve that sort of treatment because i was wearing the cherry and white? I don't think so, Also inside the ground there was a group of Stains fans (scum i think is a better word) singing all the way through the game "Going down, Goind down. Going down, There was also a group of Wire fans near us so they got the "W---y, W---y W---y,W---y Warrington" treatment, Am i mistaken by thinking it was a Great Britain game last night?, I would just like to finish this post by saying i have just about had enough of the Stains lot, I hope and pray that they find themselves in the same position as they did last season by finishing top of the table and not winning a god dam thing, Even better to see them coming third or fourth would be a nice bonus. Have a nice day.
Good post and well said. I dont know who they think they are.

Is it customary for fans to wear their club shirts when supporting GB? I hadnt taken much notice before, in the past when I've been to Wembley I always wore the GB shirt.

yes when you can't afford a Great Britain shirt, The amount of rugby shirts that i have got in the wardrobe and draws is a joke, I have spent hundreds of pounds over the years so i think i have contributed enough to the replica shirt brigade.
It aint hard to work out really,Tickets 2 adults 2 children = £50:00 Four replica shirts £124:00 Approx Grand total Approx £174:00, Bit expensive for a night out don't you think?.

I agree, that's a bit harsh that is. I must be lucky because I very seldom see anything like this and I go to both home and away games. I have seen a few scuffles and a bit of abuse aimed at opposition fans but very rarely.

I heard a bit of booing but I didn't hear the 'Newton die' chants last night. Who was singing 'Newton give us a wave?' Was there a pocket of Bulls fans?

The lady in front of me was booing Wigan players. I responded by booing the Saints ones and every time Wellens got tackled, commented to my friend how Ashton or Radders would have scored from there, you could tell she wanted to turn around and say something hehe.
