vaianakolo is a very good tackler. anyone remember the hit he did on aspy at odsal? full steam ahead and martin didnt know what had hit him (a few months ago, nooby's last game for bulls). hindmarsh is very good. for tackle counts then o'loughlin has got to be up there, he is a machine when it comes to defense. and i saw the hit infront of the sticks, to which i almost fainted at the site of.

Raynor, you going off one tackle last night? I really do hope so, or your knowledge of the game is very limited.

Luke O'donnell is a top quality defender, as mentioned, Nathan Hindmarsh. You could name half of the NRL players really, if you can't tackle, you just don't make it in the NRL.

i was thinking the same chris. people are now saying he is one of the best tacklers around because he held fa'afilli up and put him into touch over the line. that's based on one tackle. can you recall anymore he has made to give him this status? anyone in super league or NRL could have amde that tackle if they were in that position. not taking credit away from raynor but if you are in the right place at the right time all you have to do is hold the ball and roll the man over.

Rob you are spot on. My definition of a great tackler is that 1 v 1 he can stop anybody and Lockers does that. My funniest moment with Connolly is actually when he played for Bath. some giant forward ran straight at him and thought he would run straight over him. Suffice to say the big lump of lard was left dazed on the floor.
I remember Fielden running straight at Connolly
thinking he was going to flatten him,but was left wondering what had hit him.
Lockers despite what the idiots on here think, is our best tackler, but I agree with Flash that Nathan Hindmarsh is the worlds best tackler by a mile.
This is not about who makes the most tackles, but technique! Lockers technique is very poor at the moment, he could have lost us that game on Friday with his head high shots. He did about another 5 that went unpunished. When we talk about technique, you can go no further than Orr at Wigan. Lockers for all his tackling is usually the second man or the flop.

Beyond Wigan i would have to say Hindmarsh, Luke O'donnol, or even Brent Tate who is an excellent defensive centre.

The best defencive player on the warriors is Wayne Godwin! His overall tackling technique and after tackle groundwork, is just awsome. When it comes to 1 on 1 tackles Vs Props, he is just number one!
