Personally i dont use condoms. My girlfriend uses the Depo Provera injection which is licenced for 12 weeks but can be used up to 14 weeks. This contains medroxyprogestrone acetate and works basically by maintaining the endometrium with high levels of preogestrone and thus preventing a period. Side effects include sub fertility following ceasation of the trreatment for up to a year, mild acne, depression and spotting on starting.

If you want medical advice please make an appointment, to prevent against STI's you need barrier methods of contraception not hormonal methods!, although the COC pill can prevent some infections.
