Locked out!

Post by Mike »

Why did Warrington build such a tiny little ground. I drove 250 miles from North Devon and missed a last day surfing to get to the match only to find they had built a useless, tiny, shed of a ground

PS, I haven't looked at the net since Thursday so I didn't know anything about the ticket situation. I would have thought this match should have been all ticket right from the start???

Mike it is an absolute shed of a ground. A tin pot hovel. Parking is poor. To get in the away stand people had to stand in the yellow areas supposedly meant to be kept free. No programmes (sold out), poor drinks/food. The HJ exemplifies the lack of ambition at Warrington.

 The annoncements from the warrington club were poor and i feel sorry for you Mike, The first we knew it was all ticket and sold out was when we were walking to the ground 1 1/2hr before KO. The match should have been announced all ticket early, with a capacity of 13,024 very poor !

Whilst I couldn't make it today, I did try and phone Warrington yesterday so as to put a posting on the web if sold out.Tried 4 times from 09.30 to 16.00 and no answer.
Warriors offical site stated it was not all ticket and that you should pay cash on the gate.
Still, I suppose it shows Wire have ambition when they build a ground that can only hold under 14k.
I had a similar problem last year, got there early (no ticket), signs saying you can pay on the gate, stewards saying you have to go to the ticket office and get a ticket, went to the ticket office to be told you had to pay on the gate! :conf:

The official capacity is shown as 14,206 on all the sites I've found, and they have had that many in the ground previously (in 2004). Don't know why it's been reduced, although having said that I don't see where they could have squeezed another 1200 in.

IIRC the "ticket only" notice was only posted on the Wire website at about 8pm yesterday, which was the first anyone heard about it.
