I know you can only play against what is in front of you at the time but I wonder how some of the past 'greats' would fair today?
Come to that would some of the more recent stars
-from the last great Wigan side for example- have shone so brightly if the league had been more competitive?

Thinking about it;
It might have made them even better players- matching the raw talent with modern coaching/fitness techniques.+Tougher opponents week in week out etc

Hanley, Gregory, Gill and Kenny from what i seen at wigan. Johns, Gasnier from Oz. Players i did not really see in the flesh but have on video are Boston, John Woods Snr, Murphy, Ashton, C Clarke, Laughton.

Interestingly, Martyn Sadler in this week's RL tabloid asks the question of whether today's Skints team would beat the great Wigan teams of the 90's. Given that we weren't playing this weekend, I suppose he had to fit us in there somewhere. Personally, I think it's a bit of an insult to compare that lot of assorted drug cheats, gamblers and injury-prone old crocks to our great teams of the yesteryear, but it's not really a surprise to hear something like that from Sadler.

Definately between Ellary Handly or Martin Offiah.
What, Martin "don't expect me to tackle you" Offiah!
I think not, yes he did score many a try, but 95% were as close to the flag that he could get to and more often than not he let in more then he scored!
Right, rant over, Hanley!
