Noble's noble Actions
Noble's noble Actions
Much has been made of what Noble has brought to the club, however I feel what he has got rid of is far more important, I mean shipping out Moran and now Brown is the work of a pure genius. Thses two are never Wigan quality, it's just taken the right man to see it.
Re: Noble's noble Actions
I think the biggest difference is that Noble believes a game of rugby league is won through defence. likewise so did Graham Lowe, John Monie and a host of outstanding RL coaches. Anderson has improved Saints defensively.
IM it seems is the most unaustralian coach possible and has little time for defence. Simply concentrating upon scoring sufficient points to compensate for an ordinary defence. I feel sorry for Farrar with hindsight. You can only do what you asked to by the head coach and as such he was hindered IMO. Yet, he copped the flak.
The defensive line is great now and even better they can defend their tryline. Pre Noble I became resigned to, if they get on our line they will score.

Have to say what you all are saying is true. Since Noble took over as coach you could see a real change in the players. In my opinion he resparked the life in our players, he came them the courage to carry on.
The players really got their spirit back, Feka is a personally favourite of mine but he really has made an impact in the defense.
Calderwood has also made an improvement in the last few matches, look at that time when he was really facing the players. He almost started a fight with two players.

Sorry but this isn't strictly true. We might be going OK now but don't forget we have had some absolutely dire performances under Nobby, every bit as bad as under Basil. Nobby has done a fantastic job, but it didn't happen as soon as he came in. That would have been totally unrealistic. It has taken him time, perseverence, etc but don't forget his signings of Dobbo, Fielden and McAvoy were much better than Basil's. Also he had the benefit of Higham finally settling in and outplaying Wagga plus the help of Rads. I agree he has done a super job, but want to make the point that it didn't happen as soon as he showed up. He's had to work damn hard for it.Dark Fairy posted:

He did say in the press when he first came that Wigan would probably get worse before they got better .He changed the whole training regime from Cardiovascilur to weights.
