There's a Travelodge called The Mount immediately off Junction 26 of the M6 at the nearer end (for the stadium) of Orrell, less than 10 minutes' drive from the ground. We live near there and walk to the JJB in about 25 minutes.

Can't speak for the accommodation, though I expect that's the usual standard, but the pub and restaurant are good, including cask beer from Hardy and Hansens!

I've stopped at the charnley arms for a wedding, and it was fine. Nice room and all that, can't remeber what it cost though. Not too far from the ground, about a 10 min drive.

Apparently its roughly 2 miles from the ground on
Mesnes Road..
Cost Â£45 for a twin room. That will do the trick.

The Brocket Arms is on the road that leads from Wigan Centre past Wigan Park and eventually up to the Cherry Gardens. It is a nice pleasant part of town. Wetherspoons own the place nowadays.
