Orr or Robinson(why Orr!!)
:exc: Last season a new talent was born, who linked superbly well with Lamb,Farrell,Radlinski and co.So why is Luke Robinson on loan to Cas when the half backs are playing like they belong in a ametuer side.Last night at warrington proved the point Orr just does not fit in to a Wigan side.We need Luke back sooner rather than later(b4 it is too late)!!!!!!PLEASE HEAR THE FANS............

Re: Orr or Robinson(why Orr!!)
fair point... luke is at cas for first team footy.. missed him last night, for sure. i saw his try on SS news and it was a great break, he had a hand in the second try also.
if danny is out for a period of time, i expect luke to be back before the end of the loan spell. or definalty at the end on the 1 month.
personally i think orr wil come good, he is doing everything he can to prove me wrong right now.. but it is his first season here.. & he prob isn`t used to this kind of pressure. no excuse though, but give the lad time to bed.. as in a season.

Re: Orr or Robinson(why Or...
What you say about giving him time is a fair comment. However what has changed in his own game. He cant kick into space, he doesnt run at the line i could go on. That is nothing to do with beding in its just something you can do whatever shirt you wear.
The only thing he has improved since his arrival is his defence. However if we wanted a defensive stand off we should have left sean oloughlin where he was and saved the money we spent on orr and the players we had to release to get him
Not good enough im afraid but i have no doubt we will persist with him like we do with everyone we sign who is crap

Orr is good enough for a team like Wigan it just isn't working out for him. Remember the last player to wear the cursed nnumber 6 shirt... O'Neill! You say give him time but how much time does he need, if you persevere for a whole season you treat this player as the team, the team is the 13 most on form players available in the squad. Stand off is a pivotal position if he doesn't shape up soon or get replaced our season is going nowhere, mind you if we play many more games like last night it will be anyway.
Have to agree with Sharpy actually, his tackling is good on occasion, he does the old fashioned; go for waist and slide down the legs.

Re: Orr or Robinson(why Or...
yes.. i would agree that the team is our 13 most in form productive players available.
i`m not saying that danny orr is having a good season, it just can`t help his case being slated after every game, & believe me i am disapointed as the next that he isn`t performing for us. i can`t understand why?
yet i think that mike/denis have to stick with him this year purely on principal alone. i still think that orr was a raper buy.. & coach raper would prob bring out the best in the lad,
can`t really say to orr, we don`t want u now we got rid of raper..
LOL
this whole thing is gonna escalate before to long, there are so many on his back, he will crack, however
the critism IS warrented. he hasn`t lived up to what we hoped for so far.. but common sense says, get behind the lad..
people where giving luke stuck at the start of the season.. REALLY bad stick.. i couldn`t believe it half the time..
the pressure on any player in a wigan shirt especially the specialist/ball handelers is maybe the most in football..
but overall i would agree with your post rob

I could not agree more he needs time to bed in if they bring back Luke and let him play, this will cause Danny to stand and fight 4 his place in squad,I am not saying sack the man cause the Orr,Robinson combo is our future but Danny needs to know first team footie is not just because he was a "big move"player

Re: Orr or Robinson(why Or...
One sure way to make a half back look bad is put him in a team with no runners and no options for him. that is what he has at wigan, he is a quality player who has torn defences(including wigan's) to pieces for years now, he doesnt become a bad player overnight. What he needs is some confidence and he needs options he needs runners running off him he needs dummy runners. Blaming him for it all is pathetic, if you cant see the whole wigan gameplan is a negative and very basic one then you dont know rugby very well at all. We operate a very flat attacking line with very fw runners, how can people burst tackles when they are recieving the ball stood still. Orr isnt the problem, the whole we play the game is, our attack as a whole is a none event, the opposition know what is coming because we do the same boring crap week in and week out, we have done for i dont know how long now, and until we sort hat out we will continue to play in the manner that we are doing, which is rubbish.

Re: Orr or Robinson(why Orr!!)
THANKYOU!! well said luke robinson is a wigan player and shudnt be at cas danny orr should go bak to were he came from or play better!!
Re: Orr or Robinson(why Or...
well said dancer could not agree with you more against warrington was a classic example orr made a superb brake through the deffence and passed the ball . it went to waingright which was poor but where was the back up wigan players WATCHING FROM AFAR AS USUAL
Re: Orr or Robinson(why Or...
Agree dancer and BIG AL, the rest of the team does make Orr look worse with the lack of support, but how often does he make these good moves? What about his solo play? He can't seem to be able to kick into space, some of his passing is very poor too, I've noticed a few low passes from him which slows things down whilst the player recovers it.
There's no sense in sending him back to Cas (I retract my orginal comment made on Friday lol) but at the moment he's not played to his potential and there's a lot of pressure on his head to perform. If we continue to persevere with him regardless he won't get better but if we try and reduce the pressure on him by playing him from the bench there's more chance of improvement.
