Wigan v Stains

FANTASTIC nothing more to say except Captin Faz brilliant leader. What more does Mike Greg need to give him a tonic. 1 - 17 were outstanding.

Didnt agree with man of match from sky (lammy) although he did brilliant. Our forwards were immense especially Terry O, Newts and Craig Smith, but Faz is the best forward in super league

Very proud of our lads!

I didn't think Lam was man of the match, I was hoping Dallas would get it, or newton but thats because I bet my little sister that he would.

Anyway, thought Dallas was brilliant in both attack and defence, he made some great tackles that just stopped saints dead, and also managed to get them in touch, I remember being impressed with him a few times during the match although Ill have to watch it again after work to refresh me memory.

Scully played well today too, looked like he'd power through their defence everytime and did (unlike bibey harhar) thought we took him off at the right time though, he couldn't take the stick he was getting from saints.

Was fun taking the mick outta longy, he looked shattered by end of the match too. And keeping the scousers quiet was even better, why didnt we do that a few weeks ago though :conf: Target Longy and Sculthorpe and we can beat that ****

Must admit our lads were fantastic but the Ref wasn't too bad tonight - better than Kirkpatrick would have been

Aww, so you owe her a bag of crisps now!?!?

We were talking in the car on the way home saying which players we thought had good games and without realsing it we went through the whole squad. I thought Danny Orr showed great improvement and he played the best he had done for us so far. His tackling was superb tonight (as was Bretts). At one point he made a nice little side-step and kick through, that's what we need him to do week in week out. There were also a couple of times when he had the ball ready to offload and no-one was there, so it looks good that we stuffed Saints and we still have plenty of room for improvement.

Farrell was my man of the match, he was fantastic and it showed when he went off, they got two tries near on straight away. Actually a nice kick through from Bibey that made one of them, I was shocked!

There were two things that disappointed me tonight, they were the obvious deliberate high shot on Lammy by Hooper and the countless high tackles from Nick 'Steve Austin' Fozzard. Can anyone tell me... is his left arm real? He is such a dirty player, a liability and I can't understand how he didn't get sin-binned at some point. Mind you there was a point when we made about three knock ons and Smith waved play-on, so I guess I have answered my own question!

Anyway, we showed what we can do, we played superbly as a team! Lets do Leeds next week now!

All the team was exerlent. lam did a few bad kicks. But he played well. An Orr played a good game.

I thought the man of the match was Faz. When it came up as Lam, i was shocked.

I hope that we play as good as we did, at all the games.

I think he had good reason for that... he was expecting to be decapitated everytime he got the ball on the 6th tackle.

i think lam got it based purely on the turnaround from last week,
written off, slagged off, pulled off after 20 odd mins, but he played well last night!!!! his try was a piece of brilliant back up play!! ( what an off load from young scully.. & his inside pass for radz first just froze saints.. 90% of his kicks were good over 80 u can`t expect much more.. thought orr & o`loughlin kicked well also.. not bad for an old man eh?? LOL

danny orr played well, gettin better.. especially on defence. (his defence has always been good this year).. but then again as did every warrior in cherry & white.
personally i would have given it to smith.. he was everywhere, he and o`conner last night, pummelled saints.

ref was ok.. to many high shots! from both teams really.. denis did well to take off danny at the end, cos saints were looking to boil it over..

fozzard should be up in front of the board next week.. i understand how u can make mistimed challenges, but all night long takes the biscuit!! he and smith were having a ' lets see who can hit who the hardest' at one pont.. a challenge that smithy won!!!

proud of our boys!! it was my first derby!!!! i loved every minute!! and i can`t wait to watch it back on the video later!!! :D

Denis must think this coaching biz is easy. Sub Lam early one week and inspire him to return to greatness the next.

I could see that Danny Orr was the top tackler in the first half - he has worked hard all season so hopefully this can be a springboard to the performances which made him, for me, the best player outside the top 5 clubs. Totally agree with the comment about Dallas' tackling too.

Faz looked completely knackered after an hour. Apparently he's had a hip injury which may explain one or two of the ropey shots at goal.

My own man of the match may be Scully. Had a big hand in the first two tries and will have left one or two battered and bruised.

Ian Smith didn't have a faultless evening but I felt it was an honest performance from him, which has definitely not been the case with many refereeing performances this season. The major complaint is that he never binned any of their players. Fozzard in particular (how much padding on his arm by the way???) There were too many head shots, and it was only the injury to Gilmour that calmed them down for a bit and allowed us to score the first 3 tries. Maybe they realised briefly that their tactics were going to see Lam stretchered off too.

Like it or not, the Stains can play great rugby, but often resort to being rabble. This is Millward's doing. 3 times they were penalised for back chat, at least 2 of them from the 'great' Paul Sculthorpe. Long's behaviour when pulled back for the obvious overhead knock on deserved a slap. Finally, we continue to leave out Pongia, whilst they still pick Long and gleeson after their confessions. Says a lot!
