I can't see how we can contemplate letting Orr going - when first on the bus home has to be the eternally horrific waste of money that is DV.

I hope that Danny says no to leaving - after all he has a contract for next year (just like DV unfortunately!)

Umm, Danny Orr was a regular goal kicker for Castleford. I know he hasn't been particularly spectacular when given the kicking job at Wigan, but I dare say he could pick it up again with more practice.
Stop being logical, Fraggle. The club don't work that way, so neither should you.
Sorry, occupational hazard. But you're right, I should have been a Wigan fan for long enough now to understand that Wigan and doing the obvious, sensible thing does not go together...!

Well thanks guys. As if work isn't depressing enough and now I come on line to see that my guy is on his way. I've been clinging to the hope that Danny would be staying. I have always been a big Danny Orr fan (even through his bad playing days). Can't believe he has found the re-birth of his form and they decide to let him go. I really, really hope he does stay and fights for his place which IMO he would always be first on the team sheet. DANNY PLEASE DON'T GO!!!!!

Somehow i think we need an expect ala Dobbo, we need to convert all tries to ensure we get as many points on the board to ensure we are back in that playoff race come the close games and Cas switched their kickers on a regular occasion and this will not do.

I'm sure if u look at most championship outstanding teams they all have a reliable kicker. Orr is a fairly good kicker but not the percentage rate needed for challenging week in week out im afraid the same as Richards.

You cant knock him until we've tried him. Both him and richards kicked for their previous clubs. You cant just say yeah get rid of him because he's not a goalkicker, he's far more useful than that because he creates the tries! Face it we arent going to get another goalkicker with a percentage as high as Dobsons or even Faz before it. Orr cant be forced to leave and IMO he should stay and show Lulu what it takes to get into the team, and for your information Lulu was a kicker before he went to London, i open the gates for you to rant about how he's not good enough to kick for us either.

I don't think that's the case with Richards. I remember looking up his NRL stats when he first signed and he had just 4 career goals (and 40 tries)from 76 games (with both Parra and Wests).

Richards can kick goals and wasn't bad at it when he gave it ago earlier in the season but was that luck rather than talent.

Orr can kick goal but there is a question about his range, I have never seen him kick a goal from the touchline.

Ashton has shown that he has accuracy from the kick offs but can he convert that to goal kicking?

Thomas Leuluai and Trent Barret don't kick goals so I think Wigan might still need to look for a goal kicker.
