Fielden, broken nose

Post by dawbz »

It's been reported that Mason broke Fieldens nose with that punch (i thought he caught him on the jaw?).
It also states that Mason will face the panel on monday with a charge of "punching the Wigan prop".
I hope he gets the book thrown at him.

But I dont get is Fieldan had a broken nose. I mean he came back on with nothing proteting him and like you said it looked as though he hit him in the jaw.
Whilst it looked like he hit him in the jaw, Mason's fist was thumb up when he threw the punch. The index and middle knuckle are the "punching knuckles" and are the ones that cause the most damage - I can only presume that he clipped his nose with them.

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

We are all saying that Mason should be suspended for the rest of the Tri - Nations but from a British point of view, will Fielden be able to play any further part in the Tri - Nations?

He IS tough if he plays next week!!

Mason needs to be banned for the next 2 games Oz plays. Hes a thug typical Ozzie. Likes to wind players up but can take it.

Can dish out all the crap in the media but he snapped 1st. Fielden should have been ready for the punch but as far as getting Mason out of action Fielden might have just done that without resorting to any violonce.

The broken nose came from a tackle later when he staggered.
