I presume they might let home supporters on it Dave but who knows. Parking was a lot more relaxed and then started to tighten up considerable halfway through last season. You used to be able to park on the car park next to the soccerdome but they put stewards on that. The one on the other side has always been by permit for what were already called executive permit holders.
I believe many will try to get on the free car parks next to B/Q and adjacent to the cinema / restaurants. Whether they have the capacity to withstand that pressure, time will tell.
I've never seen the one opposite F & B's full (it's a huge carpark) and seeing as most of our games are after the shops have shut, then I can't see it being a problem.
Not being local, I don't know how the one behind the river works (is this the one they are charging for)?
like Fraggles idea about travelling fans, so why not make if free for ST holders?

We walk down to matches, but the fact that people are having to have this debate on here shows that the club has failed totally to make details of the the car parks and their charges clear to fans.
Maybe those of you with a more direct interest should e-mail the club and ask them for clarity - i.e. maps wiotht he areas that are free marked on?
What I have read in paper implies a percentage of spaces must remain free under the terms of the planning permission for the stadium, as the council didn't want supporters taking up spaces in the retail areas (which include opposite F&B's - not that they can enforce that one, as the cinema is open very late so they can't close barriers).

Asda is still open on a Friday night (24 hours).
ancient&loyal's plan is best - park on Frog Lane or nearby (but not outside my house, please...)and walk over the footbridge.

Got the automated reply saying they would reply in full in due course but as yet I am still waiting.

Scratch that... I've just been on the club website and found a little map with car park numbers on it. The one (only) time I ever parked behind the East Stand was the opening game back in 1999, and I swore never again. I don't think there was a car park 4 back then. But I'm going to continue to park in carparks around the stadium, if only for the security of my car. I don't drive anything particularly posh but the last two times I've parked on streets around the stadium my car has been broken into, I'd rather spend a couple of quid on parking than have the hassle of dealing with that.

I used to park on the AWay day car park BUT I found out last year that if I parked behind the East Stand I could get away quicker. The only time I found it problematic were the rare occasions they did not make both lanes one way after the match.
If you park on Asda are you not risking being clamped / fined?
