in some ways the result of this game doesnt really matter although it would be good for the team to come away with a win to prepare themselves for the season ahead of them

how does it matter in the slightest?

the very point of pre-season friendlies isn't to get a win under the belt for the fans...!

they're to get a bit of match fitness and to hopefully gell the team by producing partnerships!

win, loose or even draw i wont be too concerned"

1 other thing pre-season friendlies were designed for:

to blow the cobwebs off the vocal cords of the loyal support!
