He could possibly be a replacement for Fletcher in the second row. I'm not a big fan of overseas players coming in but Sonny Bill Williams is deffinatly not a second rate New Zealander, he is one of the most talented player in the game and would bring alot to the Super League.
I seem to remember similar things being said about Vaeliki before he arrived.
The Wigan board have taken a lot of stick on this message board in recent seasons for signing players with known injury problems, Vaeliki and Davico to name two. Looks to me like they can't win. If they don't go after SBW they're crazy. If they sign him and he sits out a chunk of the season injured, it's a case of "I told you so!".

That never stopped almost everyone wanting Morley to come to Wigan. Except Mozza was worse in that respect, he got caught just after the international series sponsored by the Think! anti-drink/driving campaign...

If I remember rightly he gave a false name (may even have been the wildly inventive John Smith)to the arresting officer who promptly said "Really Adrian? You weren't called that against Australia last Saturday." Superb.

I would rather not have him at Wigan, we already have a few highly overated players here in Lockers, Vaileki, Hansen, Richards :exc:

If you think Richards and Hansen are over rated then you have very high expectations. Richards played out of position most of the season but when he did play on the wing he was very goood, Hansen is only young and is excellent in defence.

I do agree that not every player that comes over to Wigan with a big reputation is going to play well for Wigan.

Sonny Bill is an awesome player. However, I think this is all agent talk to drive up the Bulldogs' next offer. If we could get him without blowing our salary cap out of the water, and if he would come, then great. Won't happen, though, I'm afraid.
