pivitol moment in the season?

Post by chrisJJ »

for me it was at headingly, what a win, we had 2 points deducted the week before and we beat a fantastic leads side.

1 moment that i will always remember in that match is when palea'asenia knocked ryan bailey, it was then that i knew we were defenitly in super league to stay

I have two pivotal moments...

1) Castleford at home - we lost and it was then that perhaps everybody knew for sure wigan were in deep dodo doo. I went away from the JJB feeling very bad due to worry etc... It wasnt a nice moment... even when wigan were losing i'd think 'its only Cas, we'll come back' but we never. I think most of the crowd realised some things tht night alo.

2) St Helens at home. Correct me if im wrong... Michael Dobsons first game for us. I know we lost and were going to lose anyway, but you could sense Wigan were beginning to create more stuff due to Noble coming to the club and were slowly building. Dobson really gave us fans some light because after watching the way Moran had been playing anything was better. Dobson's debut wasnt good but it showed signs of better kicking and challenging properly against a very good team... after that we know wigan won 10/12.

The Leeds game was a classic! still get goosebumps

Agreed. The team was broken and Millward had no idea how to fix it. In fact it was Millward that went a long way to breaking it in the first place according to Rads.

Getting rid of moran was good enough for me, Dobbo was a bonus! Me an my bro decided moran was just camera shy though, after his display in the NL1 grand final!

I remember at the time, Dave, both you and myself wanted Millward to stay and sort the mess out.

I don't think that is correct from my point of view - about wanting him to be given time to stay and sort out the mess. Once he had gone he had gone and yes it was a pity things didn't work out with him was my position if I recall correctly.

I had already been questioning his selections from about the second game of the season when he was still walking on water for some.

Once Rads revelations came out that lifted the lid off the mess I had no sympathy for the man.

But whatever the fact is Millwards sacking and the appointment of Noble are the pivotal moments that saved our season IMO.
