It is difficult Dave. Firstly as everybody know Hock is no brain surgeon and he does the odd crazy thing. The pass off the floor v Cats was farcical. As far as offloads go, you almost reach a scenario where if you say stop offloading then it almost become zero attempts because you are asking him to take so much care.
I am saying that given the offloads so rarely work from him and so often give the ball away he should make zero attempts.

His running is an asset enough in itself. Leave the offloads to players who have the brains to know when to try them.

I would persist personally and get players to support him better and closer. I believe he can take the tackle and slip the ball to somebody 2 or 3 yards away whereas we tend to stand so far apart from each other as a team.

The trouble with Hock at the moment is that he is trying so hard to offload, he is really forcing the pass in every tackle. With experience hopefully he'll learn when to offload, when not too and when to try even when its a low percentage play. Too often at the moment he is offloading to noone, not becasue noone is there but because he can't see the supporting player before he passes and he is under a lot of pressure in the tackle. He need to learn to control those offloads and not to do it unless he feels he is in control.

Hock I think in 2-3 years will probably be recognised as one of the finest forwards in the game - that is if he learns from experience on and off the field.

Hock has been a huge dissappointment.

For those who are supposedly in the know (CPW)they have promised a "World Class" back rower.

He is no where near this and is not as good as Wilde, who was a real whipping boy on this site before he moved!

If we released Hock, every team in SL, salary cap allowing would try to sign him. If you asked professional players whether he was a quality player and to name their GB squad, Hock would be highly rated and in 90% of their squads.

We have a defensive record that is top 4ish and an attack that is near relegation standard. Look at the Points for/against for all SL teams.

Point taken.

But they would still be signing "potential".

He is miles of Gb selection this year behind the likes of Jones Buchannan at Leeds, Langley et al.

Against us this season possibly. JJB has had a great season otherwise, that's why most people would name him for GB. As for his size and strength have you seen him this season at all?
