wouldnt we pay rents to mr whelan?
I would imagine so as he owns the stadium, doesn't he? :conf:
dont know if this is strictly true, i thought he only part owned it as the land was originally wigan council's (so jjb paid for it being built but council still own land????) and i'm pretty sure he only got planning permission if the stadium was for a dual purpose (football / rugby) use.

Planning permission also said that a percentage of the car parking available had to be free hence why he can't charge on every car park.
would he not have bought the land off the council? if he did then surely he owns the stadium... saying that, if you require planning permission to say build a house, the house would be yours wouldnt it? im not a law expert so i wouldnt know but id guess thats how it is, correct me if im wrong

It's just a bit bleak having to look forward to our 6th straight (at least...) "Year of Transition"
Everything they do is so dramatic and flamboyant. It just makes me want to set myself on fire!

The 'year of transition' phrase was oft wheeled out by Mo as a cover for his woeful administration of the club during his second stint in charge. A phrase to buy him time with the fans. The way the Leneghan takeover feels to me is how it felt in the early 80's when the club was overhauled from top to bottom. A proper transition.

I personally feel a lot better with our new management although next season might be a right off.
Having said that when you look in reflection as to what happened this season we would have finished in 4th position only for the salary reached the semi final of the CC all the trauma that week with points deduction could have had an effect on that.
Basically we have still the players around what finished in the run in
DV needs replacing
Fletcher replaced by Coley who can play prop/second row a lot of people dont rate on here but he is in the GB squad from a relegated side .We have only 1 player in Lockers in the GB squad.
Millard has a good replacement in McIllurum .
Withers and Ashton had already left 2 thirds into the season we had our best part of the season at the end .
Our new chairman has a belief in what can be achieved at Wigan he has a degree in mathematics has a good business head on his shoulders .
After next season we should have a new slogan .
The futures bright its Wigan Warriors
