Looking at this forum since the news officially broke, there are a 'large' number of users and guests compared to normal.. but there is ony 1 or 2 'old' posts concerning this take over.

Is it not that big a news?

Probably because RLFans is down (or at least I've not been able to get on for the last few hours).

My take on this was that it was inevitable just a matter of 'when'. Im not really bothered as the behind the scenes people wont affect me personally in any large way. Sure I will expect change regarding playing staff now it is 100% public and I will also expect admission charges for 2009 to slightly differ now we wont have Whelan's money-pillow to cushion us. Thats perhaps all.

I may change my view during 2008 where I may realise more solidly the possibility of Edwards as coach after Noble but the appointment of Lydon brings an 'oh, ok' thought.

Bit of an anti climax really. Was hardly mentioned on any of the sports bulletins on the radio earlier today. No news of any signings and news of limited salary cap money make this a non event really :(

Spent the last two months building to this , and really we new more or less what the score was ,The only surprise the lack of cap money and it says to me that with the loss of 5 players and only Coley brought in the real possibility is that we broke the cap last year again , hope now we bring in 2 players and maybe LMS from quins the clubs running must have been in a worse mess than we thought :conf:

dont know if this is strictly true, i thought he only part owned it as the land was originally wigan council's (so jjb paid for it being built but council still own land????) and i'm pretty sure he only got planning permission if the stadium was for a dual purpose (football / rugby) use.

Planning permission also said that a percentage of the car parking available had to be free hence why he can't charge on every car park.
