Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

I would have thought that, if he joined the stains, it would be purely for the wages he would receive - nothing else.

Ignoring the usual excuses - challenge/big club/great players etc. What could he prove by going there? After all, as has been mentioned, the side is rapidly ageing and needs rebuilding. He will follow at a period in the club's time, when he will be judged a "massive failure" should this success not continue (which is more than probable  ). Why risk his reputation? Surely his family is settled in the South of France - which in itself must be a great attraction! Especially when compared to the sh7thole that is Knowsley Road.

Saints finally tie up Potter as coach for next season

Andy Wilson
The Guardian

St Helens have finally persuaded Mick Potter to leave the Catalans Dragons and become their coach next season.
Potter, who impressed Saints by leading the French club to the Challenge Cup final at Wembley last August, has been their top target since Daniel Anderson announced that he would be returning to Australia, but they have been kept waiting as Potter has explored his options back home in Australia.

They faced further competition from the Catalans, whose chairman, Bernard Guasch, offered him a new two-year contract. However, he is now thought to have opted for Knowsley Road, with the club expected to confirm his appointment in the next 48 hours.

Bloody hell

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
