Re: I kept telling you
Has Lenegan got the balls to do anything about this demise of a very famous club?
Think Lydon is keeping mouth shut to ensure he keeps his large salary!
To say as a club we are pathetic ..... is an insult to the word pathetic!
I was at the game tonite and guess what, some supporters were actually applauding the players and that shite at the end of the game ... i'm confused???
Noble out, Vievers(who, yes veivers) out, Forshaw out .... and If it was my shout, half the chuffing team as well!!
Humpty Dumpty is now well scrambled and Nobby cannot put this one back together again!!

Re: I kept telling you
The thing that really bother me, is that I read that the players have trained "well" all week (whatever that means) and they are "up for this" and are going to "show some form". Yet whenever the players actually have to "put into practise, the bull that they spout to the papers, they couldn't even put a team of Girl Guides in "their place", they are that unprofessional/lazy/unfit/over-rated and pre-concerned with wages and booze!
Shower of sh7ite - get rid of everyone and build the club up on proper foundations, not this slippy, rocky and uncertain route we are currently taking.[/quote]
A predictable response - and how have we heard this a few times over the last few years!??!!"This was a dent to everything, the players are disappointed and it is time for action now. It's importanrt we get to the bottom of it. The last thing we need is if we qualify is to limp into the play-offs. We have to get ourselves some decent form and the form we showed tonight will keep us out of the top six and it's important we rectify what's gone on and we get a response and that will take sleeves rolling up from the top to the bottom."

BM you may be right. The Cas RT final did spring to mind whilst watching it. However, as it stands like yu the players are not up to it but we cannot see if that is simply thir fault (lack of ability) which I do not think it is because there are fundamental failing at coaching level. The squad collectively is unfit but it is getting worse.
Feka is losing his effectiveness because he does not have the explosive speed to go with his physique anymore. Smith being declared ready for SL was a joke. You cannot go from 6 months of no training living the life of joe public to a pro player and be up to it immediately. Goulding was given a great pass but got caught.
The reason I started to voice concerns was because I saw this malaise very early. We sign some of the best talent in British RL. However, this season I saw that despite having far better players our reserves / academy system of play was CRAP and they were winning games because they had better players not through the team and system of play.
We have not played well for a full 80 all season. Maybe Leeds away was the closest.
Last night was a new low though.

I said after half-time if no improvement was made or increased urgency/effort from the players, then this was a deliberate (for whatever reason) tactic to remove the head coach and that the players "no longer had faith in him". Huddersfield kicked of - Barrett knocked on, and six feeble tackles later, the giants sauntered in for another try. He was finished. The players did not even talk to one another after the conceded trys behind the posts. No leadership, captained by a player whos mind is 12,000 miles away (and how I wish he would take a load more of this shower with him).

Yeh your right totally agree with you, i said this last week, alright i went alittle too far maybe saying noble got a good price at betfred for stains, but its that bad it looks deliberate!

Re: I kept telling you
i didn't see the game and by the sounds of it didn't miss much, when i saw the half time score i knew then that we would struggle ? what on earth as gone wrong ? ,il has got a lot of thinking to do over the weekend ie noble sack, looking at the whole of the 1st team and replacing most of them with reserves ,or even going back to winning money only [that will sort the players who want to play for wigan and who doesn't],
i would not like to be in ian lenegans shoes at the minute with some massive decisions to be made ,
i am also confidant that he will do the write thing.

Re: I kept telling you
i know this is a bit off topic and i am going to post it on the rumour mill, but a guy next to me in the east stand said there is a split in the team between the aussies and the "british" players, so if this is true it all comes down to I.L and the rest to sort it out or we will be posting about this WORST EVER WIGAN TEAM, i have ever watched , for a very long time.

Phelps was never the answer. Smith is way off first team fitness.

CP can you do a rateing of the player from last nite game.
who would you drop/who would you bring in/ imo noble will go with same player.

Phelps and Smith are this year's equivelant of James and Wilkes.cpwigan wrote:Alas he is mediocre Geoff and far from what our club were telling its fans. I am lucky, I got to see him everytime he played this season and knew he was nothing special. Mind you he is not on his own.GeoffN wrote:Phelps was actually one of the better ones on show in tonight's pathetic performance. The Eclipse wrote: For some unknown reason the Wigan fans seem to like Phelps, i remember when Wigan used to sign imports like Brett Kenny and Gene Miles, now they sign reserve graders like Phelps.
