The first thing i would like to say is: Sorry Rob for what i have said about Danny Orr. Coz he was crap. WE got him, coz we thought that he might be good. He has done a few alright things. But not as good as we expected.
Doesn't take much to change peoples minds does it. We are not a one man team and therefore Danny orr playing "crap" on sat did not make us lose. There were a lot of players that didnt look very special on Sat, I think even Faz lacked his usual erm, sparkle, was it him passing completely pathetic passes to kev brown for which he had to jump 10 metres up in the air to catch it?

I don't think we're giving Orr a chance at all, I know this has happened before, in that wigan players come or go to other teams and play a lot better than they did at wigan but I just think that he might prove you wrong yet, we're clearly not top of our game yet and to pick out one player just isn't fair. Give the lad a chance

I think you'll find Orr has had 14 chances to shine and so far he has not. Some time on the bench will do him good, make him try harder and improve!

Shone

Didn't think many shone at Cardiff, maybe Newton and Brown if I was forced to pick a couple that tried hard. However, our best game of the season on Good Friday featured O'Loughlin at Stand Off, so yeah, make Sean and Danny compete for the position.

Also, Brown is a natural stand off, he can kick well, he can pass, he gets into good positions and always gives 100% so there's a choice of three!

How did you know I meant shone ey? Maybe I meant something else that is spelt shined, mr clever clogs :P hehe

Terry Newton was my man of match, browns effort was definitly there and I was annoyed with the guy behind me telling them to "get him off cause he'd done that twice"
He TRIED to take two very bad passes, and if he had managed to miraculously take them he'd have been away and we'd have had two more tries but bad play from an experienced player ruined that for him. So feel free to put him at stand off based on his recent performance I wouldnt disagree, but I think he's doing fine where he is although I suppose you want to make room for Aspi dont ya :P

Wouldnt personally put O'Loughlin there, he was very slow to get the ball out on Sat and we need some quick play at stand off, clever passes and takes! Although I do admit that he was also taking some very bad balls, if he'd been able to get the ball out quicker we'd have scored on at least one occasion so thats 3 tries we missed out on because of bad balls.

Id leave Orr in the line up though, I really do believe that hes going to click very soon, just like the rest of the team need to do. Good luck to him!

Good day out

I'd just like to say that I had a great day out in Cardiff - the only blot being the result.
The whole day felt just like a proper Challenge Cup final, great weather, freindly atmosphere, much beer even in the stands...

On the Orr issue. I think we need to let him have longer to perform. After all, he has just taken a step up in standard. No longer is he a big fish in a small pond. I'm sure he will start coming good, he needs the confidence to start taking charge and dominating matches. This has got to be difficult when he is surounded by the likes of Faz and Lam who are seasoned internationals with huge reputations.

Regardless of this, our other options at stand-off are limited to Faz and O'Loughlin, both of whom have their critics when asked to play at 5/8th.

I reckon Orr has been doing a competent, if not outstanding, job so far with the odd flash of skill that we know he has produce don a regular basis in the past. We need him to come into form for the play-offs, everything else is just a build up now.

I did'nt think Orr was performing last season for Castleford, but i put that down to his heart not being in it, knowing he was moving at the end of the season. I don't think anyone disagrees what agreat player he can be,but how long do you give him to start performing? Luke was'nt given much chance! although i think the castleford loan will work well for him. I'm sure he'll become a hero there in a short space of time and get his confidence back.

I agree with you Mike I think Orr will come good too many pople are ocusing on the negative aspects of his game and blaming him for everything when its also other players who arent always on top..if he doesnt get the ball how can he be expected to do anything...I think we have a great team in general at the moment and I think we just lack a bit of confidence sometimes and when decisions dont go our way we lose a bit of heart but we are going in the right direction..the Stains were lucky on Saturday in a lot of respects I dont think they played that well we will come good we are Wigan after all :)
