Lets give him a chance, he might pull a Pat Richards on us.
Clearly in decline, look at his try scoring stats in the NRL.
Incidentally:
"You have only to look at the weight of one or two players to realise there is a need for improvement in terms of fitness and conditioning.
"That's not my area. I appoint a head coach and expect him to do that."
Doesn't look like tabloid sensationalism to me Dave, looks like a direct pop at Noble.

Amazing how IFL, Wane and co totally vindicate the views and stance taken by some of us who refused to apply for membership of the happy clappers club.

Perfect mate
In the space of a week Wigan RLFC has taken a quantum leap by appointing a cutting edge NRL coach and putting in place a succession of future coaches for the next decade. All the pro Noble happy clappers choking on their false teeth. Could not be better. Wigan RLFC on the up.

IL confirmed it was tabloid sensationalism on the Radio Manchester program tonight. Singled out the Mirror article and rubbished it saying it was taken out of context.

I think so far we have had confirmed the poor culture Rads mentions in his book is to be addressed, the fitness issue is to be addressed and the first team players will not automatically get their places and there will be real competition for places (Wane mentioned this on Radio Manchester program).
These are three of the biggest issues we had with Noble's time here all mentioned as things that will be done.

I will be soon KW. Could not miss the annointment of MM
+ A little vindication to wallow in
Shaun Wane said we had underachieved in 2009 on the radio interview. He also said at one point re Noble saving us from relegation that a number of senior players had been vital in achieving that also.
Personally, I think Lenagan has made statements at least similar to those quoted. He has made others that correspond with that view such as 5 semis, 5 failures etc.
However, he is careful in terms of the media and is playing a good defence to the media criticising or alluding to Noble being sacked which he clearly wasn't and he is using the I extended his contract line very well.
Bottom line. Right decision. Quality appointments.
