From my superb vantage point in the west stand it looked like his shin collided with the post. The doctor came over and took one look before the stretcher came on. It looks ominously like he's broke one of his shin bones.

One suggestion I once read Down Under was to dispnse with two posts bwelow the crossbar and have American Football style post with a single post

Given the object of the exercise is to score tries between the sticks I guess whoever suggested that has since thought twice! The players would be colliding with the single post far more often than they do with the two currently. They would in effect be aiming for it when attempting to score between the sticks.

You would than also have disputes as to whether or not the try really was scored between the uprights. Not that this would make a great deal of difference but would no doubt happen.

Nutty idea if you ask me. It wasn't down to Nigel Woods while on holiday in Oz by any chance?

Guttwed, it took the edge off the match. Amos is just a fantastic full back. Phelps will do his best but he nowhere near the fullback that Amos is and IMO crucial to winning trophies in 2010.

Ainscough? I presume not. The way Goulding is playing he has the wing spot sewn up.

Desperately sad news - Amos has been flying; literally.

Phelps will have to do the best he can until Roberts is fit again. Hopefully it isn't too complicated a break and he will only be out for 8 weeks or so.

Goulding can stay on the wing - as he has won the right to do so. I don't think that we should recall Ainscough unless we get any further injuries. Unless of course, Maguire decides to put Pat on the wing.

It's terrible news; thankfully the squad has a bit of depth this year. But we want him back as soon as possible!

I can only concur with everything that's been said. As soon as I saw Stonkin call the doctor over I thought the worst. Hope it's not a season ender. Get well soon Amos!!!!!!

Gutted.... showed some real class this year, the form back in the league. I holdout some faint hope that we may see him again this season and it's not half as bad as it looked, one hell of a blow hope he's on the mend quickly,

At half time we went under the stand to watch the replay.
To be honest Amos appeared to make contact with his lower chest/hip area.I,m keeping everything crossed but it may not be a break.
