Although getting to 1,000 points will be a good milestone and barrier to break it really does say alot about our competition.

We've just put 40 past Castleford and London but the reaction from fans isn't of positiveness like we're going to win the GF but quite a bit of criticism. It is all too easy to blow away teams putting 40 and 50 on but we're not benefitting.

1. Wigan Played 22 For 838 Against 341 +497
2. Wire P22 F 733 A 435 +298
...
13. Widnes P22 F408 A886 -478
14. London P22 F396 A752 -356

There is a massive difference. We;re meant to have a Salary Cap that thrives to create an equal playing field yet when we have a shock win (Widnes v Wigan) the media erupt like it's the game of the season.

Compare this to the NRL where we all know it's a better comp and much level playing field.

1. Canterbury P19 F449 A279 +170
2. Souths P19 F468 A365 +103
...
15. Penrith P19 F327 A452 -125
16. Eels P19 F339 A510 -171

It is much closer and makes for a better competition. Winning by 50 is nothing and shows very little.

ancientnloyal - I cannot disagree with you, but in another sense it is like life, there are winners and losers. Be thankful that you are a winner.
So, after W V Hull 48 - 10, the thousand is still possible.

Charnley closing in on Vainikolo's record also...

If I am being honest, weirdly, I am not surprised by these washout scores... It's pointless when we may lose in a game that matters (ie playoffs) the knife will cut deep then. In a way feeling like Phil Clarke when he wanted away from Wigan back in day

To finish top and win the Grand Final is more important than 1000 points for the season.
So dare I say it is Josh beating 37 tries that Leslie Vainikolo has scored in regular SL games in a season.
C'Mon Josh we know you can do it.

Panchitta Marra - I think that we are unanimous in what you say, but does he have to look over his shoulder at Sam coming up on the rails?

:D Depends if Sam stops passing towards Josh's wing :D saw them both on TV recently and they were having a bit of banter about it

Makes an exciting run in at the last furlong Ron, my money's on Josh by a head.

Must agree, even after Sam shaved it.

So, it seems like 24 points against Sintellins will bring up the 1000 points. Is it on with a possible scratch team??
