I'm guessing that if we were winning comfortably or getting battered then Wane would have given Williams a run out as we would have had nothing to lose in those situations. However, in such a close game I don't think think Wane thought it worth the risk. Personally I would have had 4 forwards on the bench against Wire's big pack.

I think the idea would have been to put Williams on and move Powell to 9 for Logan (who was very good) to have a break if needed and also provide cover if Smith, who was a doubt having been out last week, aggrevated his shoulder. He probably planned to use Williams at somepoint but Powell and Logan didn't need to come off.
Wane has regularly spelled Micky Mac 10 mins either side of halftime and in an intense game like that where we did eventually run out of steam it might have been a good idea to do the same.
It's not as if our attack had managed to score in the first 30 mins so something different for the last 10mins of the first half would have been tactically justified anyway.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but in a game like that you really do need to use your bench.

Didn't Luaki pull up in the warm up and Williams was 18th man?!?
