Initially, yes. Then I thought it could be an absolute masterstroke. There are 2 excellent wingers lurking at 31 and 33 to keep him on his toes. After all the difficulties he has faced I think he deserves his chance but this could be a career defining season for him.
I agree, whenever he played last season he gave his all.I know he had some poor games but I think at times he just gets a bit giddy and tries too hard.
I'm looking forward to seeing him on the wing.

I am looking forward to seeing Budgie on the wing, he is a natural gifted rugby league player. Having said that, I would like Gelling to do well as he deserves a bit of luck - can't help but think though that it is a round peg in a square hole!

Gelling is a centre or a second rower. He tries hard albeit bit worried he seemed to flop in the RL WC. Personally, I think Burgess has greater potential, as does Manfredi BUT I presume Gelling will get first dibs.

I agree, dont think he is a winger, just have to hope it doesnt cost us in the WCC if it is an experiment gone wrong

I guess Wane has the luxury of dual reg'ing the other players which he does not have with gelling. I think this is the last throw of the dice for Gelling, if only Karl Pryce had his attitude during games he could of been a world force

Juries out on gelling, but remember the negativity surrounding a certain Mr Richards during his first season!

but a major part of the problem with richards was he was playing out of position something that Gelling if he plays on the wing will be doing again

I thought burgess had shown more than enough potential last season to be a first team winger. Maybe wane sees it as a role similar to swift at the snakes who cemented bis team position with some good performances. Hopefully burgess can do the same.
