I have sent a email of query this morning to the RFL. On the off-chance that anyone here is sufficiently au fait with the system to answer my questions, I'm copying it (in part) below. If you know the answers to my questions, please, speak up!
I bought a ticket for the Grand Final last night from your site. This was "Print at Home". I assumed this would give me a pdf file with a QR code or whatever that I could get up on my mobile phone. I don't have an actual printer, or easy access to one. But I didn't think that would be necessary. Isn't the point of electronic tickets to be greener, and save paper anyway?
The confirmation email says
There is also the option to display the ticket on your device or add to your Apple wallet. These tickets can also be viewed in your MyTickets account.
The form also has an "Add to Google Wallet" button, which I am reluctant to press; I don't use Google Wallet. My mobe is Android, though. What I want is confirmation that I can access my ticket and gain entry using my mobe only. The only way I can see to access my ticket is from the confirmation email. Which takes me to a section headed PRINT TICKETS. At the bottom of the page, it says, "View and Print". It then tries to access a non-existent printer. I can't imagine that that tiny picture of the unfolded ticket on my mobe screen,
with a QR that I cannot enlarge with my thumbs is going to be sufficient to grant me access to Old Trafford. I just want to 'get my ticket up' on my mobe for access. Can I do that? If I can't, what are the other options other than Print At Home? Have I taken the wrong option? I have no idea how to access my "My Tickets account" on my mobe. Where is that? What are my options now?
In the past, when I 've bought tickets for events, the ticket has been attached to a email, and that ticket could be downloaded on my mobe. So when I got to the turnstile, I wouldn't require internet access, because the ticket was safely downloaded into the Download folder on my phone. Why do GF tickets seem to be so much more complicated than that?
One thing to try could be choosing 'Save as PDF' or 'Print to PDF' when printing from your mobile - might not work for you but can sometimes solve the issue of no printer and wanting a more accessible version of a document

Many thanks, benjamaphone, I think that may have solved my problem. Now I have a pdf file (several, in fact

) of the ticket on my phone which is 'expandable'.
Few years back I was working from home, and had a printer all plumbed in to my lap-top etc, and Print from Home seemed OK. Now I'm retired, the printer is long since dead, and I don't propose to buy another. Surely now Print From Home is as old-fashioned as cassette tapes?

Just to add, for info, I've had a commendably prompt response from the RFL to my email asking about Print from Home. It says:
Hi,
We recommend printing your tickets for smoother access on the day.
However, there is no reason you couldn’t use your tickets on your phone.
We just ask that if you choose to do this you turn your brightness all the way up on your phone, so the barcodes are easier to scan.
Kind regards,
Rugby League Ticketing

Have you tried doing a screenshot of the QR code, whatever it's size? You can then edit and crop it so it will fill your screen.

If you mean me, morley, like I said upthread, I now have a pdf downloaded, so accessible offline on my phone, and I can expand that fill the screen with the QR code, so I think I'm sorted, thanks.
Now I have to decide how best to get there! Car, drive to outskirts, and get Metro, car, drive to nearby and walk, motorbike ditto, coach, train...

I've gone for the official OT car park again, worked a treat last year - not the cheapest at £14.50 but by the time we'd have paid to park elsewhere then got a couple of tram tickets if wouldn't have been much different

Got mine in W203 when they went on sale to season ticket holders on Saturday night but the block directly behind the sticks was not available, anybody know why or are they saving them for general release, which seems a bit backwards as you would have thought directly behind the sticks would be the first to go on sale
