Isn't that what we've got now?
Yes your right in terms of the title but it looks like Toulouse and London may be added and others will lose out.
Good idea or not?

I'm reading that Catalans are going to have all their funding withdrawn!

Oh for the joys of Yorkshire rugby

This would be disgraceful. Catalan add to SL

Think the SL would be better ceasing trading and going bankrupt, I was speaking to one of our ex players now in his 40’s is just awaiting a big payout for “head knocks” or whatever all these ex players are now claiming for.

I think it’s wrong that they’ve took the wages and a few years down line claiming for payouts, anyone who’s ever played at any level amateur to pro, knows the risks and we still lace our boots up, but to then claim, is wrong for me

I think this could be a biggie for the game and I think there’s a hell of a lot of ex players making claims, so the breakaway league might be right if they do the RFL will be better going bankrupt

Seems the directors of the RFL who resigned decided to scrap the salary cap without asking the clubs. The clubs refused to back the decision apart from one club yes Wigan. That is really what Vegas was about Matty Johns and getting some financial support in the UK.

Coming through Leigh Derek Beaumont not happy as Leigh not invited in and London are! Brian Carney is a big mate of Johns that was what he alluded to on Sky. He knows what’s going on.

What do others think? There definitely is something going on!
No salary cap does not seem plausible. They still have one in the NRL although it is obviously big enough to pay high wages and I also think players can earn money for image rights without it impacting the cap so I can’t see why the proposal would be different than that.

It would not surprise me if Leigh were being excluded from any new SL with London and Toulouse in it and so it would also not be a surprise for Beumont to be fighting a rear guard action by helping stage the coup of getting Wood installed.

I’d have some sympathy with Leigh if that was all there was to it. They have done well and met many of the criteria for an SL team but this does not appear to be just a self preservation exercise. There are far too many rumours about Catalan and Toulouse being given the boot which is crazy. If that is true and Beumont is all for it then he’s not going to get much support from many fans.

Can't disagree with that, Dave.
