I posted last week that dropping Richards was a ploy on Brian Nobles statergy look what happened to Calderwood when he was dropped he came back a better player so will Richards .
Well he seems to have reacted the right way.
Competetion for places is the best motivation for a player .Richards knows now that his place is not automatic he has to earn that right to be picked.
True but there is no way Noble can drop either Dallas or Calders and if he plays Richards in the centre again he is mad.

Richards should only get a game if either of our current wingers are injured.

So IMO Richards needs to keep his good attitude shown in the U21's and stake a claim next season for the vacant wing slot.

This is a bit harsh,he's done his time in reserves and shown good attitude as you've pointed out, so i think he deserves a place on the bench to give him the chance to put a few things straight. If Fielden plays eighty, is there not room on the bench for him

That would still mean taking off either Dallas or Calderwood, and as DaveO has said, barring injury (or a bad loss of form) there's no way that should happen.
If you're going to have a back on the bench, it needs to be a utility back that can cover all the positions, not just wing. IMO, Richards can't do that.

I think he could be getting both DV and Richards fit in the U21's. Both have struggled through injury DV especially. You never know he may hit some sort of form if he gets fully fit which I dont think he ever has been. The beauty now is that we can cover positions now instead of rushing people back.

True, but the frustration is that £300K's worth (haha!!) of player in Richards and DV are being kept out by about £20K (if Rads is truly playing for free). I find that rather embarrassing. :(

I dont thin it sounds to bad. Other clubs have to rush players back. I agree its wasted money but if i'm right then good if im really wrong then they should just be paid up and released.

competition for places is what we have needed for a while and whoever gets dropped should fight for the place if they perform like callderwood has of late

And so he should be.This may upset some people but rads as water boy this week pat should get the centre posistion BUT if you where in the south stand you will have seen why rads is still out there and not just shouting to the lads from side line. When orr missed a tackle and was layed down in the try zone rads was shouting at him like really screaming at him and he obvously makes a huge difference as in getting the lads up for it and getting there minds on the game....But pat should have the centre role with rads coming on to talk to them?? what do you think ?????
The Texans have a saying when things get tough"Remember the Alamo" Well all I say is take your mind back to the Wakefield match and"Remember the Salomona".For over 60 minutes Rads HAD HIM BOTTLED UP. He had an absolute stinker. It was only when the now sacked coach of Wakefield asked him to switch wings did he start playing. Pat Richards has not got the guts or determination to tackle the big players like Salomona. So unless he has had a change of heart he should not play
