AFAIK, Old Trafford only holds 68k. OK, last week's final was poorly attended, but there's usually over 70k for the CC final. Last time we were at Cardiff, there were nearly 78k on, IIRC.

If I get chance I'll look up recent attendances, but I'm pretty sure all Wembley finals have been over 70k (except maybe the Sheffield one?)

It's been extended to 70 odd thousand, Old Trafford, Geoff!
OK, sorry, I was going off the F.A figures! Silly me!

I think the attendance now is around 75'000 because Manchester United's latest home game recorded an attendance of 75115. http://www.premierleague.com/fapl.rac?c ... d=2691888
It's right at the bottom of the whole match report! Because i guess you won't want to read the whole report!
Cheers!

OK, I might change my mind! I do enjoy the Wembley trips though....seems more "special" than OT to me.

As akid all I knew was Wembley... 1988 I was 3 when we played Halifax (i think, maybe 1987..) and I remember that game on the telly... when I was a few years older, old enough to understand whats going on, I went to Wembley every time during the glory days... It was great!! the face paints, flags, teddys (aawww), status quo... IMO you cant beat it... its somewhere you dont see on telly often... Old Trafford has the Grand Final... its too close to home, its on SKY every week, even though Wembley is in London, it's one of the homes of rugby league and should still be.

'Aye lets keep it at Wembley, there's nothing like walking up Wembley Way after the match with a smile on your face after a win, hoping that 'er indoors has taped the match ok.
Anyway the last time we were at Wembley we lost. I want that rectifying pretty soon, next year will do. :exc:

if the attendances for major games (internationals) and the CC keep plummeting as Geoff's figures have shown they can hold it in a phone box in a few years time!!!!!!!

I thought that Cardiff was "booked" for next year's CC cup final?
