Wigan squad to face Saints

Fair comment - but, put Smith behind Saints pack and it'd be a different story.

Doesn't look as good a player as Dodds, platform or no platform. There've been games this season where we haven't been bullied in the forwards, and have had a decent amount of field position, and Smith just makes too many unforced errors.

This is the first time I've seen Dodds play well, he has that nack of having loads of time - good prospect.
How much does it say about the Wigan set up? A lad that dominated the Aussie youth team looks lost now.

I left with ten minutes to go tonight; we never looked like scoring a try. Wide open spaces on the stands though, most of my usual neighbours were missing, I can't blame them. Desperately disappointing, Lam can't go soon enough, I hardly care who is in charge as long as it isn't him. Was worried about the injury to Marshy, but fortunately he came back on, so I guess it's not that serious. He seems to be about our only attacking threat these days, but once again there is neither platform nor structure. Saints were dull (even Hull KR played better rugby!) but they never needed to get out of second gear.

I've got the Rabbitohs game to watch, and I don't know the result. Perhaps that will cheer me up a bit!

I get the impression most opposition coaches close down jacko and faz as thats were 80% of our moves come from…… im sure that faz is the only forward who can run lines into a gap

Exactly but can anyone tell me what our game plan was? No speed, no creativity, no punch. Not the Wigan I know.

play down the middle….. hope the opposition make mistakes…… if they do play down the middle then kick high last tackle but DONT and i mean DONT compete for the high ball

Disgraceful performance, the coaches and senior management need to have a real hard think about what they are doing to this great club, they are destroying it.

Same as at the DW, the best team won. I would take Bennett in a heartbeat.

As for our youngsters, I agree with some of the comments upthread, KPP is clearly a real talent, who Wigan should do their damnest to hang on to. Shorrocks is a useful squad player who can fill in at a few positions, but has been over-played. Havard is a bit of an enigma; there's a great player in there, but I'm not sure it's ever coming out. Smithies, Partington and Byrne, I'm less and and less convinced about. And reluctantly, I'm putting Smith in that category too.

I can't stand Bennett! I never wanted him to have the England job, but, to be fair, I hated him before that. Of course he's been a good coach, but still... The one thing you can say about Bennett is that you can't wipe the smile off his face by beating him, because he never smiles in the first place.
