Sam T @ 6 for 2016?

Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

Most important question is how much will be the annual salary, and will it destabilise the team structure, assuming we have one.? What is too much?

I think this announcement was dependent upon the RTS announcement (who IMO is potentially a far better FB) and then a marquee rule announcement.

I'd go with that.

Rocky seems to be developing a taste for goal kicking as well which could solve another problem.

I don't see why it is dependant on the marquee rule announcement. As far as I am aware there is still opposition to that from certain clubs so it's not a done deal.

With Bowen leaving and the fact Sam knows there is a much lower salary cap here so can't expect similar wages to NZW then why can't he just be on senior players wages at the club? He could be the one the highest salary but someone has to be.

If we are near the cap as we are, we are paying several players far too much money!

Bye bye Bowen. You did your best, unfortunately you left no petrol in the tank when you came over.
So that's Bowen off the salary cap.
Could This be Lockers last season? I hope not, but if so we'll have plenty room under the cap for Sam, and maybe another quality player.

I'd love Sam to come back & have no doubt he'd improve the team. What concerns me is his signing could be a distraction, or even an alternative to solving our number 1 problem.

It seems increasingly certain that Lockers will have to call it a day soon and/or will miss many of our games. It's also evident that we're not a trophy-winning team without SOL. I'm a big Smithy fan - when he plays alongside Lockers, but our form this year says that we lack a playmaker and our structure becomes predictable when Sean is out.

Between Sam, Smithy, Rocky, George W, Powell, MM & Logan we have immense talent and potential but, if I was IL or SW, I'd be looking to buy in a proven 6, 7 or 13 who can make the team play. This would take priority over signing Sam, though both would be nice if we can manage it within the cap.

Whatever transpires Tomkins isn't the be all and end all. Leeds sign Cuthbertson and the impact is there to see. A forward of similar stature is required to replace Lockers who' time is not that far off!

If we could also add the human wrecking ball that is Luke Page to the forwards then that would be some team

No i don't think that is a problem position. We have more than enough cover for that position. Our problem is at scrum half and in the props if you ask me there are to many happy clappers on here to realise that these are our problem positions. Smith needs to fire off to saints and ply his mediocre performances there and some of our props well need I say more headless donkeys with no rugby league skills whatsoever.

This will be the third one today I've moved & merged, I'm not on the site all the time so please be patient if threads are in the wrong forum or need merging with open threads on the topic in question :)

I will see to it eventually, thanks
