Oh, I thought you meant Cable and Wireless, or clueless and worthless as they're affectionately known in the industry

If it's Hock's fault Noble is still here I'd ban him for 4 years never mind 2!

Ian has offered Noble a one year extension to his contract based on a mutual understanding that Brian wants out at the end of 2010 and Ian has his man lined up for 2011. It's not rocket science Ian sees an intrim one year contract for another coach as counter productive as no decent coach would entertain a one year deal.
P.S I know who's coming in for Noble and he is seriously good. However if I disclose at this point my source said he would tell me nothing ever again

Then IMO IL is making a mistake. Noble is IMO damaging the side not just not having any success. His treatment of Ainscough is the prime example. He came into the side full of confidence and got dropped for no good reason after scoring 4 tries. Now people who watch the reserves are posting he doesn't look ready for the first team i.e. he has gone backwards.

Another season of Noble selecting his favourite players regardless of form will do more harm than good. Another season of poor conditioning with the same back room staff won't help either.

If IL has decided Noble is not good enough for the job long term, he isn't good enough for it in the short term either.

Given Wane is not supposed to want the job full time I am sure a deal could be done where Wane takes over for one year on the understanding he reverts to his junior team duties at the end as that would suit him and IL.

Of course there is always the possibility Wane could have a successful season which would mean the incoming coach would have to match that or it would look a poor move.

So perhaps the fear of success would prevent such a move and better we stick with a mediocre coach in Noble so the new chap in 2011 can look good!

There are nine teams wishing they were in Wigans position re league, there are ten teams wishing they were in position re the cup. There is a team playing rugby league for Wigan that are determined. Of the top four two have been top of the pile for a while, two got off to a good start. Those two can still be reeled in. There are fourteen teams wanting to be top of the pile. Wigan does not have a right to be there. That takes work. Superleague is a far faster game now than pre superleague according to the pundits. We are in with a shout at silverwear. We see superbuys going elsewhere. Ryles, who? King who? Where have these super aussies gone? A lot of the missed buys are not setting the game on fire over here. Top Aussies stay down under simple fact. 2nd tear ausies come up as top signings.
Why do players, coaches and team bosses rate perfomance differently than our experts on here? Why do our very own manage to assess players in 80 minutes on field when the power use information of a full time assessment and get it wrong?
I would not be disappointed if we have Noble here next year. But then again I thought Barrettt held Wigan back

Okay. Here is the truth and perhaps why several fans thought Noble was leaving and Wane replacing him.

IL/BN had a meeting a few weeks back. By the time the meeting had finished, IL was looking a getting rid of BN
and putting S.Wane in charge for the rest of the season.

In the meeting, BN WAS WILLING TO WALK AWAY FROM WIGAN. HE TOLD IL, "PAY ME 120K AND I WILL GO RIGHT NOW"

IL WOULD NOT PAY THE MONEY.

If true, then I don't blame Lenagan. This season can take care of itself now (not quite a write-off, but expectations aren't that high), better to keep the money for signing Myler! Why should he get £120k for being a failure?

Well IL is going to have to pay his wages instead then isn't he.

Is Noble on £240K a year or more?

If he is then IL will have to pay him £120K+ in wages by keeping him on anyway (remaining 6 months of his deal).

If he isn't on that much then IL could sack him for less than £120K. He could sack him for the remainder of his contract payments (i.e. simply pay him up) and Noble would be in no position to demand more than he was due wages-wise for the remainder of his contract.

Therefore this story does not fly for me.
