DOD, Jamie jones bin laden is utter s**te!
he does nothing!!! he simply isn't big enough, isn't strong enough, isn't fast enough! he's a joke. how leeds start him i'll never know! he poses no threat what so ever.
Against us this season possibly. JJB has had a great season otherwise, that's why most people would name him for GB. As for his size and strength have you seen him this season at all?
haha can't believe im eharing this.
okay i'll admit, he does a solid job, but when iv seen him play (and i watch all sky games) he's looked elss than impressive, and if that is the standard of forward that GB will now be operating, then i bet the aussies are laughing their way to the cup already. he doesn't offer much go forward, he hardly offloads, he's an average forward who couldn't make it at prop when played there! simple as.

'He does a solid job'
More than you can say for most of our players week in week out.

I'm with cpwigan on this one; the team should know that Hock is always looking to offload, and should be backing him up every time. the problem is largely that Leuluai is usually the one that should be there, but doesn't read the game well enough to be in the right position.
That late break Hock made (when he nearly lost his shorts), for example, would have resulted in a try if TL had been in the right position for the offload.

Actually he is the one forward we have who knows how to run a line through a defence and yes he offloads. Guess what, offloading leads to occasional mistakes. It can also lead to tries, particularly if other players support him. Wigan players do not support each close enough.
Hock has become a bit of a whipping boy for supporters IMO. People need to look elsewhere. In a team relatively devoid of good attacking play he is vitally important.
I have been critical of Hock lately but I think tonight what cpw says is correct. He was one of the few players who you felt might break through and indeed he did have several half breaks.
However the offloads aren't working so despite the fact in a better team someone would be in support more often he needs to play to the team which means most of the time sticking hold of the bsll. if he did then we would be better off.

DaveO i actually think the opposite. We struggle constantly from always allowing the defence to set at the PTB. As a fan of Nobbys i think he under utilises the offloads at Bradford and here. The successful sides us in the glory years Stains now have great offloading forwards players who at the point of impact are attempting to position their body to allow the offload to pacy backs.
As a club we seem to have neither, the exception being Hock and Ashton and they arnt exactly firm fan favourites some seem to prefer kiwis who take 6 - 8 drives per game.
Hock seems to be one of the few players who flourished under the dark Millward days and i dont know if it is a coaching or player issue but there is no support play in the squad.

Hock looks to offload which is fair enough and the rest of the team should know that he is looking to offload. They clearly don't, but Hock offloads anyway. The team are at fault for that but so is Hock. I like the guy and he's got talent I can't work out whether our problems with errors and inconsistency are to do with attitude, morale or just bad coaching?? Its been difficult to single any player our as being outstanding throughout the season. Even Barrett has had his off days.

No far from it. He takes the tackle and looks to offload. Whatsmore, by looking to offload you expose more of your body to the tackle. Hock has always had offload skills. Even as a junior he was noted for his outstanding ability to take contact and release passes.

I think sometimes he needs to drive it in with no intention of the offload , on a couple of occasions he has had an overlap outside and should have drawn the defender and passed before impact, he seems to want to take the tackle then offload at every given chance . Mixing his play up would make him a better player and also when he did want to offload easier .
For me he is potentially one of the best forwards in the country , for what ever reason he has not made the impression on the league I thought he would this year , maybe the coaching , lack of support , off field problems or whatever it is we should give him time to sort it out.
Maybe a break in the second team would do him good but with the lack of forwards who can break the line this is something we can ill afford this year .
We dont want to see him ripping us apart for someone else in 2 or 3 years time when he has developed his talent .
