If the fans are not behind the team the team moral is shattered. The fans can inflict more pain than the coach. Pull together or the boat will not go forward. Like the threads on here it will go round in circles. Noble cannot win. If we beat Cas it is because they are poor opposition. We beat stains, it's about time. We win the league it is in spite of Noble. This disaster thread started before the players were off the field at Hull. Let the team settle and I don't mean playing time I mean from the flack from the fans. At the moment your playmakers are wondering why sign for this shower of ungreatful so and sos.

Sorry Jim but that is rubbish.

You can not have been to the Wakey game and have written that. The support at the game is there but when the team fails as it did in that game it is simply impossible to cheer them on as there is nothing to cheer. Literally.

What has been written since that game on here reflects what happened in the game. You can not be philosophical about it. Suggesting fans are ungrateful is just stupid. What are they being ungrateful for? Nothing in that game that is for sure.

If players won't sign for us it isn't because of the 14,000 fans who turn up week in week out despite the dross. It will be because they can spot we are no where near competitive enough. Simple as that.

I have returned from a concert at the Bridgewater. The conductor Carl Davis is world renowned. He had to conduct sat on a chair because his foot is broken and in a brace. The previous concert he conducted he had to use sticks just to walk on stage. Davis and the Halle Orchestra gave a world class peformance. They had umpteen standing ovations / encores. The Hall was full to capacity with tickets ranging from £20-40. People react positively to quality. They also attend and are prepared to pay good money.

At the moment, can we say that about Wigan?

Re The Wakey game, pre match and in the first 30 seconds the crowd were chanting. That enthusiasm was killed in the next 39 minutes and 30 seconds. In contrast the Wakefield fans who came expecting defeat and were silent became incredibly vocal from 30 seconds onwards.

As far as I'm concerned ...people kept saying the team was not nobles..well now it is..he signed or re-signed them..so at last it is his team!(no doubt someone will nit pick) but noble must perform this season. ok not a great start..if it fails to improve sooner rather than later...nobles future at wigan must be in doubt..for me he has had long enough..but i'm prepared to give him more time maybe the next 5 games to turn things around..I doubt he will..but i'm prepered to be proven wrong. I'm fed up with excuses as it seems are others.

I am not saying everything is rosie. What I am saying is if the team is flat and I think that is an understatement it is the fans job to lift them. Noble cannot for reasons unknown. However, fans taking their frustrattion out on the players will never help the situation. NRL are shedding players for unprofessional behaviour. RL are queueing up to get them. If Riddel's knee is kaput surely pre signing medical would have shown that up. If bad behaviour was a reason for the sackings surely IL will have a get out clause written into the contract. The idea that a player does not need to keep his fitness up to honour his contract is another nono. If our KP is not working to get match fit. Goodbye.
Back to my point. Do not let the players down at their time of need. If no-one s lifting the players it is down to you, Jim

It's not a case of slagging them off just for the sake of it, most people are coming up with concrete suggestions for how to improve the team.

As cpwigan and DaveO say, we're looking for things to cheer, but they have to give us something. Joel T got a massive cheer when he scored, and that lifted the crowd a lot, but it didn't last long as more mistakes and penalties came along. I didn't boo, personally; I just sat with head in hands for most of the game, but I won't criticise those who did.

There was no booing at Hull, despite losing, because the performance was a definite improvement.

You mention Riddell; it was clear in the friendlies that he's not fit yet, so why isn't Noble doing the same as he is with Pryce?

For HC..One I don't boo the players never have never will..I'm there to support the team..but when you are served up dross you can't cheer...noble is paid to pick the team and motivate it and provide a game plan..ok it's early this season..but it's been like this for the last two...don't forget we were promised better this season..how long do you think noble should have..all this season? or maybe give him another year?...for me if he has not turned things around in the next 5 games..there is a major problem..and it just might be noble..after all he signed the players so for me the buck stops with him.

If these guys cannot play basic rugby league why are they playing the game?
All this talk about their morale being affected by the supporters is b..l s..t. You would think they were ballet dancers!!
