Mine was Manly (what an atmospher) 30,000 + people cramed into Central park, the fireworks, the match, everything still makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck just thinking about it.Oh the good old days and good old Central park (i wish we were still playing their).
And also when we beat Stains at Murryfield in 2002.The Stains fans were so cock sure they were going to win. And kept telling us in all the pubs before the game that they were going to stuff us.Then Watching them all doing the Saints Shuffle out of Murryfield with their tails between their legs. That night after we won you couldnt find a Stains fan in any of the pubs in Edinburgh.

Cheers ancientnloyal.I was about 17 or 18 years old when we played Manly and i was just starting to get in the openage 1st team of the amature RL club i played for.I remeber being at the match with my 2 best mates and all the older 1st team players and thinking that this was what Rugby League was all about and was even more hooked on RL & Wigan than i was before.
I SOUND LIKE MY DAD.

I have this match on dvd. It was a fantastic night.
What an atmosphere? What a game? What a team?
They played about 75mins without any substitutes. There is no way a full team today could play so long without substitutes, just goes to show the fitness and stamina that team had, and without all the modern training methods & facilities that teams have today.

Hull v Wigan at the Boulevard in a cup match if my memory serves me right we losing i think 22 -0 and came back and won 23-22.There was a freezing wind coming off the North sea straight into the faces of the Wigan team first half .
Rings a bell. Was this the same game where a drop out went dead at the other end of the pitch?
If memory serves me right it was the Dorahay era and he put Edwards on the bench. Down 22 at half time and he put Edwards on for the second half. I think the final winning try was virtually the last touch of the match.

Were Wigan fulltime by then or still part time ?
Josie,I know its"the good old days syndrome" but to me the game in that era was more entertaining and it had more Characters. The players could get away with a bit more & there was always a bit of The Biff.Which always adds to the excitment.
Now i sound like my Grandad

Come on guys you can't be serious! The best Wigan RL moment was seeing the plastic scousers cry into their beer after we stuffed them 27 - 0 at Wembley.
