At least certain players don't anyway.

now you make sense you only excluded one player in your earlier post which was off the mark and yes god the stroll to the scrum was like sticking two fingers up to the fans

Now here's a thought. I wasn't ashamed or anything like that on Thursday evening, rather I left the ground certain we could have won that game had we been just a bit better on attack.

When I thought about what being a bit better on attack meant it was many things. Not stood sill receiving the ball, dummy runners (lack of) and so on. It's all been said before.

So I have come to a conclusion that on Thursday the players busted a gut for the fans but given their limited tactics it just was not good enough.

In the car on the way home discussing the game with my Dad and son I also said can they raise their game lime that all the time? I did not think they could. Looks like I was right.

So where does that leave us? Looking for a new coach.

Well what a journey, Spain to Barrow to Wigan to France and finally back in Spain. Not had chance to post but emotions have been on a roller coaster.

Very disappointed with performance at Barrow, delighted with performance in first half against Saints but thought we changed tactics in the second half and gave it away. Shocked and saddened by performance against Catalans.

My problem is I cannot see where it can be put right. I have spoken to Brian Noble before and I know he hates to lose but he persists in playing a style of rugby which does not suit the players we have, they are to lightweight. Is it his fault or is it the Chairman who wont sign the players the coach wants. Is it the players we have simply not being good enough for super league.

Our players do not seem to have the muscle tone that other teams have, is this down to a lack of fitness or the wrong kind of fitness training.

At the moment I think there are that many things wrong with our club that a simple change of coach may not be sufficient to put it right.

One thing I am certain of is that Fielden is the biggest thief since Ronnie Biggs he is stealing money from Wigan and should be utterly ashamed of himself.

Ah well couple of days relaxation and then start the drive to Wigan to see us hammer the Crusaders. I am not shamed to support the club but I will not look back with fondness when I think of many of the current squad

Never be ashamed. Angry, disappointed, frustrated, cynical, maybe.
The problem as I see it is that the season is over for us. There really is nothing to cheer for. We are simply not going to win anything this season and under Noble probably never. The very best we can hope for is a run at the play offs where any decent team will turn us over. In 2006 we faced relegation and the fans turned out but we don't face that this season so what is there to cheer for.
This season's over in terms of achieving anything. I'm not at all surprised that the fans are not showing up at games.
I'll be glad when this season's over. We'll hopefully sign a new coach, get rid of the dead wood in the squad and in 2010 turn out a team with some aspirations of winning something and playing like they care.
I hate feeling like this and despite all the present problems, I love being a Pie Eater but we're so far from where we need to be to be proud.
Here's to 2010, a fresh start. Can't believe I've resorted to saying this 10 games into the season.

it's Noble's fault if he trys to play big boy rugby with our lightweights. i bet there isn't another coach in super league would try and play the way we do with our squad

When les cats scored in the first couple of minutes; I knew we were going to lose.

That said; we hit straight back and looked the better side after 20 minutes. Everything after that was pitiful though. We gave up in the second half and were beaten by a very average side. The ease with which they got over the advantage line was disappointing; but the amount of scores we conceded once the game was gone was the worst part. It was a case of "oh well, we've lost this one, never mind". I haven't seen the defense so poor since the dark days of Millward.

Our tries at the end were worth nothing. Les cats were already in the bar and were waiting for the hooter; a team made up of the posters on this board could have probably run in a couple of scores at that point.

So far this season we have won 4 games and one of them was when we scraped past a NL1 side; which is nowhere near good enough. We are languishing at the bottom of the table and look unlikely to make the playoffs at this point. We should beat Celtic - but does anyone want to bet on it? Who else are we going to beat?

We are being comprehensively outplayed and beaten by teams that contain has-beens, journeymen and never-weres - the difference? They are coached to their strengths; the coach sets a game plan for the team, rather than making the team play to his game plan.

IL will not sack Noble before the end of the season; so that means we will have to put up with this rubbish until next year. The only possible chance of change is if the attendances fall - and if we play like we did last night; then there is a real chance of that.

Thank God for wire - if they weren't even more pathetic than we were, then we would be the laughing stock of super league - again
