Thats how I viewed it as well. He ran towards the post and put the ball down, his legs were still in the field of play!platt-warrior wrote:At half time we went under the stand to watch the replay.
To be honest Amos appeared to make contact with his lower chest/hip area.I,m keeping everything crossed but it may not be a break.

Re: Amos' injured leg
I saw the incident on the TV at half time in the Boston Stand, and on the warriors web site since.
It seems to me he hits his shins on the post. I'm no doctor but he's probably splintered his shin bone.
Half a metre either side and he'd have been OK!
He did lift his legs following the incident and you could not see his leg move in any limp untoward motion (if you know what I mean)
Hope he's OK!

don't know exactly how severe the injury to amos is, but i do know that he was laughing and joking in the tunnel after being carried offand also that is wife decided that she didnt need to go in the ambulance with him, bith of which imply the injury was not too horrific. hope hes back fairly soon, he sbeen fantastic so far this year

Re: Amos' injured leg
maybe Amos wife didnt go to the hospital because they have two young kids and she didnt want to leave them. i think he will be out for at least 6 weeks but fingers crossed its not serious. also hope Tommy's okay but with all due respect to out next few opponenets (Salford, Sheffeild and Harlequins)if tommy is not fit there is no need to risk him
Re: Amos' injured leg
I totally agree with all this. Roberts is easily the best full back at the club and is such a threat there. Phelps, or indeed Richards, at full back just arent the same attacking threat and in the case of Phelps he also isnt as good defensively. That is why he Phelps has been left out of the last 2 matches because Maguire feels that Roberts is the better full back and Phelps cant get back into the team.cpwigan wrote:Guttwed, it took the edge off the match. Amos is just a fantastic full back. Phelps will do his best but he nowhere near the fullback that Amos is and IMO crucial to winning trophies in 2010.
Ainscough? I presume not. The way Goulding is playing he has the wing spot sewn up.
With regards to Ainscough I dont even see why he is being discussed. Goulding has been just as crucial to our success this year as Roberts or Richards and it is this back 3 that have been key in the last few games, both in attack and defence. Every week on the highlights of the trys that Cas concede Ainscough is making exactly the same mistakes that he has always made and doesnt seem to be improving defensively. Indeed I wouldnt even say that he is the automatic choice if Goulding or Richards gets injured and can imagine Charnley getting picked before him.

Complete rumour, may be nothing in it (and prob should be in the rumour mill...) but talking to a couple of lads in the Boulevard tonight, who were saying according to Daz Goulding it's not broken...
yeah, friend of a relative of a mate of someone's cousin..I know...but maybe some hope?
(by the way I've had far more beers than I would normally post under the influence of...so feel free to disregard...)

Just spoke to Garath Hock on the fishery and he told me that Amos has NOT broken his leg, but has tendon damage but the extent is not yet known. Gas told me he is back on the 8th match next year and is now topping the scales at nearly 17 stone, coming back at prop.

Feka is only aupposed to be 16.5 stone now I believe, so Gaz is massive if this is true.

Correct, they can sometimes be worse than a break, a break is 6-8 weeks, (usually)
But tendons if not treated properly, (players brought back into the game too soon) can make them worse. But whatever has happened I wish Amos a speedy recovery!
Can't whack a good pint.
