why risk making a statement?

The club are taking things week by week and making no assumptions. It's only right, therefore, that they make no assumptions as to factors going in our favour this weekend.

Let's be fair, it's a tall order:
Wolves and Stains Draw or Lose
or
Wigan Win or Draw with a couple of injuries, against a (reported) full compliment Giants squad.

If the boys want it on Sunday, they're gonna have to work for it... and if we want it, we're gonna have to get behind them and scream the stadium down...

I think the Marketing & Advertising guys at Warriors are doing an awesome job with getting bums on seats. There's trailers all over the place in Wigan at the moment with "IT'S CRUNCH TIME, WIGAN WARRIORS VS HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS" on them, and a picture of the Grand Final Trophy, if that doesn't get you excited and buying tickets then nothing short of being told that we've won, make your way to the stadium please, will make you...

Personally, I think advertising the game is enough. Fans are watching the league and doing the math, they know what needs to happen for us to get that shield on Sunday, i've a strange feeling the TS Sales will be busy...

So come on Brothers & Sisters, even if we're low on numbers, let's show Giants who can shout and sing the loudest, and lets get that party started from the moment the lads feet leave the tunnel!

I dont wanna hear a single Giants chant or song, Just Warrors Squad Number 18 showing that they're just as strong as the 34 members of the squad!

I know that no one wants to look at it this way but if/when we beat Hudds, I feel we should get the shield then. My point being that Huuds is the big one, we will be up for it and I think we will win it. The Bradford game is a possibility but imagine if we lost that game and were presented with the Shield then. That'd be rubbish. Getting the trophy weeks after we'd won it and having lost a game, no, not for me.

If we beat Hudds, strike while the iron's hot and present it to us then!

All we want is a definitive statement from the club. if things go our way, will we get the presentation on sunday or at the next home game? not too much to ask is it?

The statement in the Observer was definitive. Presentation will be at the Bradford game (see my above post). Now this might not be on the Wigan website but I believe that will be the case.

I think itis correct East Stand but Dave O, A to B and myself and others are right all it needed was the club to make an official announcement on the club website. In some respect this is where the loss of Mick Hogan is felt.

On Sunday it wont matter to me if we get the sheild presented to us or not, what matters is we win in stile and we can cheer our team and be happy in the knowledge that over a hard fought season we were the best and strongest team. Something I did not think we would do this season I thought if we finnished in the top four I would be satisfied, but to win the league is fantastic and beyond my wildest dreams. Now lets get on and hopefully win the grand final, then I will be on cload nine

Definately Bradford..."Taking nothing for granted against a determined Giants side, two Super League points will ensure the Warriors finish top of the pile in 2010 going into the Play-Offs but any presentation of the League Leaders Shield will not take place until after the final home game of the regular season against Bradford Bulls on the 3rd September."

It should be presented then as that when we will of won it, by the time we get to the last game of the season the moments gone!
My thought too GBH. It may well still be the case as SKY surely want it presented when they are televising the game and have rearranged the kick off etc.

sky are a shower of you know what as gar as i am concerned if we win sunday we should have it presented then

and that that

And I'm on holiday beginning of Sept

They should present it, as soon as we're confirmed champs. :( :( :( :(

I am flexible as I do not lose out but morally / traditionally it is right to present a trophy as / when you win it and wrong to wait until as / when you feel like it. In a way it is part of the reason the League Championship is devalued despite IMO being the greatest achievement in British RL over a season.
