The final whistle was the best moment for me. I knew we had won.

Supported Hearts for thirty years and won nowt.

In 1986 we went on an unbeaten run of 34 games and were the best team that season by far . Only had to draw the second last game of the season , and win the last to do a league and cup double lost them both.

Very similar to this season the Warriors have been the best team by far over the period . Sat in my seat at Old Trafford all game waiting for things to go wrong. My son had to ask me several times if i was all right as he was very concerned about me.When the final whistle went i sat there and had a good "greet" and i dont mind admiting it.

Well done Wigan.

PS That was not just 22-10 that was a hammering.

Abide With Me is traditional and whilst I like it at the Wembley Final, I have never understood why a funeral song was ever chosen in the first place!
I agree with you about this. I think Abide with Me is a most dour choice of song for the RL anthem.
The anthem should be an uplifting song for a celebration not a dirge :(

My favourite moment was the Goulding hit on Flannery with a a minute or so left. It was a cracking hit but it was more the subsequent joy and jumping of all the Wigan players as they then knew they had won. They seemed to start their celebrations and were totally oblivious to the fact that there was still a minute left.

Hard to pick single moments out, but the second try, or course, and the two try-saving tackles by Sam and Goulding at such a crucial point in the game stand out. I think I knew we'd won as early as Sam's try to make it 20-6 - looking at the Saints players I could see they'd nothing left. Even the missed penalties didn't bother me at the time, I just never thought they mattered.

Being sat in the Saints end near the screen, My wife, and parents in law all glum after stains lost, and me jumping for joy singing along to "Take me Home".

oh and then looking back up the stand at them waiting for me has i touched the trophy when lockers stopped in front!

Absolute class!!!!

As other posters have said Gouldings hit on Flannery at the end. Summed up the effort of ther night and the season. Sam running the team talk after his try was great to see as well.
The best moment was the Saints fans across the way from us walking out with 15 minutes of the game left!

For me too. After the knock on was awarded, I looked at the clock and saw that there was about a minute and a half to go. I finally allowed myself to recognise that we were actually going to win it. The next 5 minutes or so after that I can't really remember, bit of a blur. Absolute euphoria!

Gotta give a mention to the fact that the city of Manchester seemed to be wall to wall Wigan on Saturday. We squezed our way into the Oyster Bar which was solid cherry n white. The few Saints/Wire shirts all seemed to be part of a larger gang of Wiganers. Bouncers with radios looking deeply concerned lest owt kick off. I said to one of em “Relax mate. Won't even be any ale spilt today!” Metrolink to Trafford Bar, seeing every pub en route infested with Wiganers and thinking, “Have any Stains fans turned up?”

Toll Gate at Trafford Bar, awash with Wiganers getting their last pre match pints!

One question. Who on earth was the lady with the Jimmy Hornby 5 shirt?????

Well my eldest is 16 and although he went to Murryfield he doesn't really remember much about it but he just loved the GF.

To see him so made up and enjoying the entire occasion and be buzzing about it ever since was/is just wonderful.
