Grand final - thoughts/favourite moments

Post by Sam Panapa ate me pie »

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. Just had to get that out of the way first of all.

Thought every player played out of their skins and deserve all the accolades given to them this season.

Thought Gleeson was at his very best which was great to see.

Goulding is a player that keeps impressing me. Intelligent and determined, his tackling improves with every game and his monster hit [on Lomax?] right before the end was one of my favourite moments.

Another favourite moment was walking past the a sheepish memorabilia stall trader by the bridge on the walk home packing away a huge batch of St Helens grand final winners t-shirts but no Wigan ones. Woops..... look out for them being used at a car wash near you.

Still not seen the sky coverage, does anyone know a way to get hold of the match? Are Micron/the club releasing a dvd?

also the Goulding hit was great and players from 1 to 17 cant be faulted

One funny little moment for us was on the way back to the car we had to walk through the main west stand car park to TDG freight depot.

There was a little lad who was a Saints fan hanging around waiting to set off and as we walked past he muttered under his breath with his head down "75-0" as he clung to that thought. I doubt he was old enough to even remember that game but it just made me smile.

I am 99% certain MIcron do not. The RFL / SKY team up to release a GF DVD but it is normally a month or two down the line.

Sitting in the Saints end it was hilarious watching them scuttle to the exits for an early escape.

I know it's not ideal the way it has expanded but strewth the atmosphere in Old Trafford was awesome.

The best moment for me was when I knew we could not lose with no time for Saints to nick it (not that they looked likely to).

I just savoured the time and soaked it all up. The countdown from 10 to 1 was just great and watching the rest of the Wigan fans go nuts was great. And of course me and my son were there - how good is that!

WOW

Deserved

Team performance

Cant wait for next season

Great send of for the players leaving

It was great to see how up for it the players were esp Stu Fielden, loved him going mental at the east stand after one of the tries (this it may have been the disallowed one)

Some Saints fans can be sooooooooo bitter

its was crap North tier 3 except when they scored and nobody stood up for Jerusalem which is weird. That said the view was fantastic but could do with a screen under the roof and would be perfect.
